This May Be So Dumb, I'm Surprised Bush Didn't Think Of It

A bayonet on a handgun.

That's a CZ-75, which has a reputation of being a pretty good design. But why the Czechs thought it necessary or desirable to mount a bayonet on a handgun is beyond my imagination, unless they thought that it would drive the enemy into uncontrollable fits of laughter.

Sort of like the fatal joke.

Not the first time I've seen that pic. It's definately a CZ, and certainly in the family of their 75 series but it's not the actual CZ-75 or CZ-75B. Those models don't have the accessory rail.

Probably the CZ 75 SP-01

I'm pretty sure the only reason they did a pistol up with a bayonet is to get its photo splashed around the internet. :)

Idiocy knows no timeline.
A patent drawing from the first war and the real deal from ...earlier.

Oliver,

I suspect that having a knife mounted on a handgun made some sense back in the day of loose black powder firearms, but once cartridges came into use, adding a knife to a handgun made little sense, if any.

Would decidedly make it difficult to holster, to say the least!
