All Hail Chris Dodd

Chris Dodd forced a delay in approving the FISA bill to grant immunity to those lawbreakers in the telephone companies.

Note that although some of the other presidential candidates said they opposed it, only Senator Dodd took time off from the campaign to do something about it. Only Senator Dodd did more than just run his yap at a campaign appearance about how the immunity provision was wrong.

Where was Hillary Clinton?

Where was Barack Obama?

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama were serving America by trying to get themselves elected President.

Oh, wait - was that line copyrighted by US Robots and Mechanical Men Corporation? Dr Azimov would be proud. By the way, does this make Anne Romney Dr Susan Calvin?

Except I doubt in Anne Romney is anywhere near as smart as Dr. Calvin.

In some way, I felt sort of sorry for Issac Asimov, as everything he wrote was judged by his short story "Nightfall." It must suck to have done what was arguably your best work at age 19, but when you think of it, Albert Einstein arguably did his best work when he was 26 and then spent 50 years expanding/living off of it.

Would that I were so smart.

Now, see, I liked "Nightfall" but his seminal work, IMO, was the Foundation Series, despite the internal contradictions. But I read most of the Robot series in high school and was enthralled.

Two things:
(1) Thank you Chris Dodd, you saw your duty and did it.

(2) I thought we PAID these other people to be you know, representatives of the people or something. It always bothered me that the only people that have time to run for office are the people we elect to other offices....

Anon, let's not forget that Rudy has been taking oodles of money from his no-show job for most of the time he has been running, money that has come, in large part, from nations that are less than friendly to the US. He only stopped when he got tired of being asked about it.
