The upshot is that if there are too many Black or Latino students in a medical school, that is prima face evidence of discrimination for Trump.

Note that there was no meaninful difference in test scores and qualifications between Black, Latino and white students. But that made no difference to Trump's Legal Department...too many Blacks just has to mean discrimination against white people, in their pea-brains. I'm guessing if that the med schools' classes were 100% white Christian men, that nobody in the Trump Administration would have a problem with that. And the schools will get that message.

Anyone having flashbacks back to the day when there were quotas for Jewish students so more relatively stupid white Chirstian kids could get in?

Alabama- Racist to the Core

Someone else pointed out that it took Alabama fourteen years to implement Brown v. Board of Ed., which was mandatory, and fourteen days after LA v. Callais to redistrict to eliminate majority Black districts, which was not mandatory.

What "Merit Hire" Truly Means

It's a fairly safe bet that nobody who the FLOSS hires is competent to do their job. The only thing he wants around him are white guys (or blonde women) who sing his praises.

But in general, "merit hire" means "all women and men of color need not apply".

Rich Lives Still Matter More

Two days after the CEO of UHC was whacked, Yeremi Colino, a 17-year old migrant, was stabbed to death in the Financial District of NYC because he didn't speak English.

There is still no serious press coverage of the murder of that young man. They are still obsessed with the CEO murder. The ratio of cops working the CEO to those working the murder of Colino is probably on the order of a thousand to one, or more.

The lives of rich white men matter more. They always have.

Once Again, the Second Amendment Doesn't Apply to Black Men

A Florida sheriff publicly released bodycam footage from a deputy who fatally shot a Black airman in his home last week – and disputed claims from the victim’s family that the deputy had gone to the wrong apartment.

Okaloosa County Sheriff Eric Aden showed the video during a Thursday news conference, shortly after an attorney for the 23-year-old airman’s family called for its public release, saying the victim’s girlfriend was FaceTiming with him and believes the deputy was at the wrong unit.

The footage that I have seen shows that Mr.Fortson was indeed holding a pistol, but it was pointed down and his finger was not on the trigger. He made no move to raise the gun; the trigger-happy cop immediately shot him dead.

Being Black and armed seems to be a license for the cops to kill people. Again and again.

To Conservatives, "DEI" is a Synonym For N****r

Mayor Brandon Scott has come to expect overt and not-so-overt racism.

The latest example came in the aftermath of Tuesday morning’s Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse. Within hours, Scott said he started to notice social media posts labeling him as a “DEI Mayor.”

Scott immediately bristled at the dog whistle.

“We know what these folks really want to say when they say DEI mayor,” he told The Banner. “Whether it is DEI or clown. They really want to say the N-word. But there is nothing they can do and say to me that is worse than the treatment of my ancestors. I am proud of who I am and where I come from.”

Mayor Scott won his election fair and square, but that matters not to the Royal Association of Butthurt White Folk. Those calling him the "DEI Mayor" probably were taking a break from ironing their white robes and prepping 4x4s for their next cross-burning.

The Mayor is right: They don't have the guts to come right out and call him a n*****r. Instead, they use dog-whistles like "DEI" and "woke".

The Orange Moron has been the leader in making it acceptable for racists to be racist in public.

Why is Anyone Shocked That There are Racists in Coeur d’Alene, ID?

Members of the Utah women’s basketball team were subjected to racism near their hotel in Idaho last week when a pickup truck with a Confederate flag drove near them and the driver began using offensive language, including the N-word, authorities said Tuesday. The team was left shaken and wound up moving to a different hotel the next day.

Tony Stewart, an official with the Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations, said at a news conference the Utes were walking from the hotel to a restaurant when the truck drove up and the driver began using racist language. After the team left the restaurant, the same driver returned “reinforced by others,” Stewart said, and they revved their engines and again yelled at the players.

People are surprised by this? Coeur d’Alene, and the Idaho panhandle, are known for being a hotbed of racists, white militias and other groupds of hateful nutjobs. All it takes is a whiff of a protest for civil rights and the cranks come out by the hundreds with their guns.

Nobody who is nonwhite, Jewish or non-straight who has an ounce of sense would even think of going there. Somebody at Utah University or the NCAA suffered a major brain fart if they thought it would be a good idea to house Black basketball players in that town.

White Privilege Applies to Terrorists, Too

People convicted of crimes related to domestic extremism face far shorter prison terms than those convicted in international terrorism cases, even when the crimes are similar, a new report on the outcomes of hundreds of federal criminal cases has found.

The first-of-its-kind analysis, completed by terrorism researchers at the University of Maryland, was provided exclusively to The Associated Press. It comes after federal officials and researchers have repeatedly identified domestic violent extremists such as white supremacists and anti-government groups as the most significant terror threat to the U.S. And it follows scrutiny of the outcomes of Jan. 6 cases, including for some Oath Keepers and Proud Boys who received sentences years lower than what was called for by prosecutors and sentencing guidelines.

Researchers at the University of Maryland’s National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism, or START, and its Center for Health and Homeland Security examined federal criminal cases between 2014 and 2019 that were brought against people radicalized in the U.S. who were pursuing political, social, economic or religious goals.

START’s analysis found wide disparities in prison terms for similar conduct, which were most pronounced in certain kinds of cases. The largest was in cases where defendants plotted violent attacks that ultimately failed or were foiled, where international defendants received an average prison sentence of 11.2 years, compared with 1.6 years for domestic defendants.

For violent cases that led to injuries, domestic defendants received on average 8.6 years, versus 34.6 for international defendants. The disparity was smaller, but still significant, in violent fatal attacks with domestic cases at about 28.8 years and international cases at about 39.2 years.

None of this is surprising for anyone who has even a basic knowledge of the criminal justice system in this country. The charges are different, the judges' setencing rationales are different. Those accused of domestic terrorism are treated differently and more leniently at every step of the process.

It's white privilege in action, pure and simple.

Tennessee pastor Willie McLaurin, who leads the Southern Baptist Convention’s Executive Committee, resigned Thursday from his position as interim president and chief executive after it came to light that he presented false information about his educational qualifications on his resume.

The Executive Committee’s hiring team was considering McLaurin as a candidate to permanently replace former chief executive Ronnie Floyd who resigned in 2021. On a resume he submitted for the job, McLaurin falsely listed that he had earned degrees from North Carolina Central University, Duke University Divinity School and Hood Theological Seminary, according to the Baptist Press, an official SBC news outlet.

To sum up, a historically racist religious denomination tried to find a Black guy to help pretend that the past is over and the guy they chose enhanced his credentials.

Another Giant from the Sixties Has Gone

Nichelle Nichols, who broke barriers for Black women in Hollywood when she played communications officer Lt. Uhura on the original “Star Trek” television series, has died at the age of 89.

Her son Kyle Johnson said Nichols died Saturday in Silver City, New Mexico.

“Last night, my mother, Nichelle Nichols, succumbed to natural causes and passed away. Her light however, like the ancient galaxies now being seen for the first time, will remain for us and future generations to enjoy, learn from, and draw inspiration,” Johnson wrote on her official Facebook page Sunday. “Hers was a life well lived and as such a model for us all.”

Nichelle Nichols's impact on culture in the 1960s can hardly be unsderstated. Dr. King understood her omportance, which is why he persuaded her to stay with the show when she wanted to drop out. A generation of Black girls came to believe that space could be theirs, too. A few did so.

Nothing Much Has Changed in the South

A judge ruled Wednesday that he’ll seat one Black juror and 11 whites to decide the trial of the men who chased and killed Ahmaud Arbery, despite prosecutors’ objections that several Black potential jurors were cut because of their race.

Superior Court Judge Timothy Walmsley acknowledged that “intentional discrimination” by attorneys for the three white defendants charged in the death of the Black man appeared to have shaped jury selection. But he said Georgia law limited his authority to intervene.

It's the same old Southern shit. "Oh, there's a colorable reason for excluding that jury" is a time-won excuse. And it's pretty much bullshit, as has been proven over time. White man kills a Black man, load the jury with white people. Black man kills a white dude, pack the jury with white people.

Can We Now Stop Talking About This Fucking Case?

The FBI on Thursday identified human remains found in a Florida nature preserve as those of Brian Laundrie, a person of interest in the death of girlfriend Gabby Petito while the couple was on a cross-country road trip.

Far too much attention has been paid to this case because the victim was a pretty, long-haired, blonde white woman. Somebody could have murdered a dozen Black women and gotten far less press attention.

Virginia Beach is a Good Old Racist Town -- Prove Me Wrong

Jannique Martinez says that since July, her family has had to endure recordings of loud, screeching monkey noises and recordings of racial slurs directed toward their Virginia Beach, Va., home every time they leave or enter their residence.

Martinez — who is Black — claims her neighbor has set up motion sensors to detect the family’s movements and harass them. But police, citing no physical confrontation or verbal threats, have said there is nothing they can do.

This week, following national news attention, Martinez said the loud noises coming from her neighbor’s home have finally stopped. But, she says, the neighbor continues to display dizzying strobe lights.

I'll bet that if the neighbor of one of their cops did the same to one of the city's police officers, they'd figure out a way to deal with it, right fucking quick.

Dead Pretty Blonde White Women News

Search teams fanned out Wednesday at a Florida wilderness park to look for the boyfriend of Gabby Petito, the young woman who authorities say was killed while on a cross-country trip with him.

The search resumed around 8 a.m. Wednesday at the 24,000-acre (9,700-hectare) Carlton Reserve park, North Port police spokesperson Joshua Taylor said. Investigators say Brian Laundrie’s parents told them he had gone there after returning home without Petito on Sept. 1.

I am not minimizing the pain to the Petitio and Smart families. But let's also not ignore the plain fact that, save for the fact that their murdereded loved ones were pretty long-haired blonde women, nobody in the national media would have given two shits.
