You realise that you have white Afrikaans readers too? And that pigeon-holing all white Afrikaans people as "racist" is ... racist?
if what they learned about the U.S. is from observing Trump and his administrations incompetent Reich wing activities, it would be easy to believe they would be right on top.

The Trumpist policy to only admit Afrikaners came about because of right-wing propaganda that there is a white genocide going on in South Africa. And since it's pretty well documented that Trump regards all people of color (not just Blacks), as being low IQ, it's beyond obvious that the refugee policy is firmly grounded in the racism of Trump and his handler, Pee-Wee German.
Oh I'll give you that Trump's refugee policy is racist and based on Trump's racism and misunderstanding of the world around him. An opportunity, however, is an opportunity, and taking advantage of Trump's policy is not racist and does not make the people grabbing with both hands racist.
