Yesterday, it was announced that US has weapons in space, no mention of that by ABC World News Tonight. Video of fireworks that caused an airliner to go around in Guatemala? They had that. Video of a ground-resonance helicopter crash in May (minor injuries of pilot and instructor? They had that.
It’s not as though a destabilizing national security move isn’t newsworthy. But since there’s no compelling video, no story. They couldn’t find a talking-head expert to talk about the risks of putting weapons in space?
Dumbing down things is only slightly less evil than the Bari Weiss Trumpification of CBS News.
But only slightly less.

The Persian Gulf is choked, so too now is the Red Sea with the rising Houthis.Trump has refused the Saudis who have long used us as their strategic mercenaries. Now SA itself maybe threatened, a country which has used its enormous energy wealth to buy everything...and arguably has no ability to do much of anything through its own super-entitled catered-to people.
So: the stability of oil and natgas energy, long founded on its control and supply by a relatively stable group of Middle Eastern nations headed by SA....is coming unglued just as everyone's reserves are reaching the bottom. I see diesel and home heating oil hitting ten, fifteen, twenty dollars a gallon as winter approaches with everyone worldwide getting a proctological lesson in the consequence of inelastic demand and supply brought on by Trump's vanity war.
The Saudis spent many billions on their military to build a Potemkin structure. It seems that much of the money and equipment were siphoned off by corruption, something that the Russians and Chinese know by their own first-hand experience.
