[Norfolk District Attorney William R.] Keating said that he believed serious mistakes were made in the initial investigation of Seth Bishop’s death, and that he could not help but wonder whether the deaths in Alabama could have been prevented if the original investigation had been more thorough. No fucking shit. If they had done a better job of investigating the `86 shooting, it is pretty damn nuts certain that the shootings in Alabama would not have occurred. It's pretty hard to shoot someone in Alabama from a cell inside MCI Framingham. Even if she had done a short stretch, it's highly unlikely that she would have been hired to teach as a professor in any university with a homicide conviction.

Yet another example of spewing whatever bullshit will get those pesky press people off his lawn.
As I've pointed out, it's not just government officials doing this. It's everybody. It's the only way to deal with today's retarded press -- baffle'em with bullshit, or just state the obvious. Just look at some of the early statements from Toyota officials before they got their asses handled to them. Same deal -- they couldn't shout "get off my lawn!" and shoot the stupid-ass press bastards, so they just spewed a buncha bullshit, the press bastards were too stupid to know it was a buncha bullshit (and probably didn't care, they get paid the same either way after all), and the press bastards dutifully did their stenography act and printed the bullshit in the papers or "reported" it on the air.
I don't know how much you've dealt with the press, but my dealings with the press have been quite uninspiring. Bah humbug! Get off my grass, you press whippersnappers!
