Jeb Bush for President?

Jeb Bush probably thinks he can become president because some watery tart threw a sword at him.

So this is what the GOP has come to: Choosing a candidate between one of the offspring of an inbred wealthy Connecticut family and some know-nothing from Alaska who quit her job the governor of one of the least-populated states in the nation because it was too difficult for her?

Oh yes, I forgot about Multiple Choice Mitt, a politician who makes Harold "I Can See Staten Island From My Helicopter" Ford look like a man of principle. My mistake.

No event needs to occur in order for Jeb to be a serious Presidential candidate for the Rethugs.

He already is.

Unless he allows his "Spanish" son to take his place.

Thanks for your perceptive reporting. I'd almost forgotten that I called Jeb for 2012 in 2008.

I expect that Bush will be in play, but I don't see him as a serious contender. There is too much baggage associated with both him and his family name.

Comrade, I hope you don't misunderestimate the GOP skills at making up into down and black into white.

I too, have been wondering if he might emerge for 2012. However, it is my view that there is almost no way that Obama can be beaten in 2012, which might make a run unattractive to Jeb.

On the other side, though, is the fear that if a relative unknown does run and manages to win, then the self-styled front ranked candidates will be shut out, possible forever.

In `91, a lot of very senior Democrats took themselves out of the race rather than go up against Bush the First, when then had very high poll numbers following the Gulf War. Mario Cuomo was one of them. They let some new kid run, and, as a result, those senior Democrats were out of the game forever.

I think Jeb knows this. If he has the fire in the belly, he'll run.
