I Do Not Get The Music Choice

The commercial for the video game "Dante's Inferno" and the song "Ain't No Sunshine".

The commercial:

Bill Withers:

Does anyone have an idea why that song was chosen? Right off the top of my head, "Paint it Black" or "Welcome to the Jungle" would seem to be more appropriate.

Maybe this is what, in the mind of video-game makers, is considered "irony".

The idea is that the main character is going through Hell to rescue his wife, who was "stolen away." Basically, the whole game is a bastardization of the Persephone myth, "Inferno" and the game "God of War."

My gamer friends say it sucks ass.

No clue. I found the ads this year particularly puerile and annoying for the most part. Video games bore me to tears anyhow, although I admit, the graphics are getting a LOT better.

Penny Arcade is up on the video games, and have some good insights (and personal rants) about games.

The comic is good, too!
