The oil industry is trotting out a public relations campaign in order to convince Americans that, despite $11 billion in profits (for three months) for one company (ExxonMobil), the oil industry is really "jest folks" who really don't like the idea that they are charging you four dollars for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline. The article also notes that the coal industry is trying to make you feel better about them being the worst contributor to climate change among the energy industry.
