Grinding Away

Rudy Giuliani is a target of the criminal investigation into possible illegal attempts by then-President Donald Trump and others to interfere in the 2020 general election in Georgia, prosecutors informed attorneys for the former New York mayor on Monday.

The revelation that Giuliani, an outspoken Trump defender, could face criminal charges from the investigation by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis edges the probe closer to the former president. Willis has said she is considering calling Trump himself to testify before the special grand jury, and the former president has hired a criminal defense attorney in Atlanta.

Also, this:

The Justice Department on Monday rebuffed efforts to make public the affidavit supporting the search warrant for former President Donald Trump’s estate in Florida, saying the investigation “implicates highly classified material” and the document contains sensitive information about witnesses.
...
The document, the prosecutors say, details “highly sensitive information about witnesses,” including people who have been interviewed by the government, and contains confidential grand jury information.

So now we know that a grand jury is looking into all this. The wheels sre grinding.

The TDA (TFG's Defending A##h#les) might want to get a hold of witnesses' names so as to possibly intimidate or better yet get some his loyalists to do something about that little problem. Oh, wait they would never do anything like that. /S

Funny how you wanted the Warrant released until you realized it would make your side look bad.

There's a difference between the warrant (a copy of which was given to Your Orange Lord) and the supporting affidavit, which is not routinely disclosed.

None of this is arcane stuff. Do try to pay attention to the facts, rather than Trumpist propaganda.

B, you said "It would make your side look bad....". Do you think there is nothing but two sides to everything. Is it either you believe the president is immune from any law enforcement or you are on the side that says the president isn't immune and therefore anything I stand for? The real world is not a binary place.

In no way do I think there are only two sides.
But Miss Misfit is most obviously on a side.
She wanted the warrant released. Now they complain about it.
I'd like to see all the documents released. If open and aboveboard, then there is no reason not to. It would put the raid and other actions that appear (notice I said APPEAR) to be partisan up for scrutiny and tell us if this is a witch hunt or not.
So far the actions against Trump appear to be a vendetta rather than an actual search for justice.
If they can do it to him, then it can be done to the other side. Neither is a good thing.

B, Trump could’ve released the warrant instead of bitching about it, and therefore Garland called him on it. Conservatives like to say they are in favor with of traditional values, what’s traditional about being a whiny child in public, as is the case with DJT?

b,

"Funny how you wanted the Warrant released until you realized it would make your side look bad."

Do you understand the difference between Warrant and an affidavit?

Education moment. I'm not a lawyer, I don't play at it.
**a document issued by a legal or government official
authorizing the police or some other body to make an arrest,
search premises, or carry out some other action relating to
the administration of justice.

**a written statement confirmed by oath or affirmation,
for use as evidence in court.

Turns out from experience you need a reason for a warrant
and it can be manifold but one path is the sworn statement
that XXX did crime or some offense that requires taking
the actions described in a Warrant issued by a court.

Seems its a standard process for law if there is
accusation of crime(s) committed. But if you
don't know the difference will your loss.

Now before you get all het up its a step.
The next one is based on what was found and laws in effect.

Since its about national security, first hand knowledge
of the basic law for that is its bad news if you run afoul
of it. Seems the people that do that take it personally
like their very own life may be at risk.

B, you're being an ass. I called for release of the warrant. Not the supporting affidavit. You are the one who is conflating the two.

Your argument is noted and rejected for the above-stated reasons.
