Trump: Now Even More Evil

How evil does one have to be to take money designated for medical research and divert it to the Pentagon? (Yeah, I know, that's rhetorical.)

On Thursday, Democrats on the House Appropriations Committee revealed that the Department of Defense is attempting to divert billions of dollars from the National Institutes of Health to supplement the Pentagon budget issues caused by President Donald Trump's war with Iran. This is according to a report in which ranking member Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) revealed the effort, which has been undertaken "without notifying Congress."

According to the report, "DoD has signed an interagency agreement that could give the Department access to billions of dollars that Congress provided to NIH for critical biomedical research. These funds were provided to support research to develop treatments or cures for infectious diseases such as influenza, malaria, tuberculosis, HIV, Ebola, and other dangerous pathogens." Trump-appointed officials at NIH disclosed the scheme only after being pressed for information by House Appropriations Committee Democrats.

They could take the money that's being spent on Trump's stupid projects in DC and give them to Whiskey Pete for Trump's stupid war.

If the Dems take the House, let alone the Congress, this time around, the investigations that'll start in January will be epic.

And they should be,

Donald J. Trump, King of Stolen Valor

There was a time when doing this would have led to ostracism from public life:
Recall that he was a draft dodger whose dad allegedly paid off a podiatrist to document bone spurs that probably didn't exist. The Selective Service wasn't going to drag a rich kid in for diagnostic X-rays when they could fill their quota with poor kids.

But that doesn't stop that cowardly fuckwad from cosplaying as a decorated general.

That those on the Right haven't lined up to denounce this bullshit tells me all that I ever needed to know about their integrity. But we knew that, ever since the same people who lashed out at Bill Clinton for being a draft dodger and who Swift-boated John Kerry closed their eyes to Chimpy's getting a champagne NG post and the late unlamented Dick the Torturer's draft-dodging.

Can tRump Be Even More Despicable?

Putting words in the mouths of dead soldiers is next level

He calls them "heros". Yet he's been quoted as calling those who fell in battle "suckers" and "losers." He's wondered aloud why anyone would join the military. He forbade his kids from signing up after 9-11. And, of course, he's a draft-dodger from a long line of draft-dodgers.

He's just a despicable, sniveling hunk of protoplasm in an ill-fitting suit.

And he's a racist whose people allegedly rigged the National Civics Competition to keep a Sikh kid out of the top three so that only the white kids would win.

Airpower Does Not Win Wars

Exhibit 1: Iran.

U.S intelligence agencies have assessed that further strikes on Iran aren’t likely to achieve any progress with regard to the U.S.’s war aims, a new report finds as the Trump administration approaches Congress to ask for $87 billion more to fund the war.

The Washington Post reported on Monday that intelligence analysts have “concluded that Tehran and Washington are, for now, stuck in an indefinite limbo between peace and war” that would not be resolved with further strikes. The report, largely prepared by the CIA, finds that there is little reason to believe that Iranian officials will be impacted, nor will further strikes change their positions at the negotiation table regarding provisions on sanctions or the Strait of Hormuz.

Which leaves invasion, conquering and occupying Iran, which would require more infantrymen than the U.S. has, "infantry" being taken to mean trigger-pullers in all branches. And that assumes that nobody gets killed along the way. Which isn't going to happen. But if it does, the Demented Draft-Dodger will be the second GOP Yellow Elephant/draft dodger to send thousands of America's youth to die in a quagmire on the Asian continent.

Trump has chosen to get into a wrestling match with a tar baby. Almost everyone outside of the circle of the Senile Old Blohard and Pretty-Boy Pete can see that reality.

The Strait is Closed

And this is why.

A very short take: On any chartered ship, the vessel's insurers, the terms of the charter and the say of the ship's master control. None of them answer to the Senile Orange Fat Traitor.

Another Day, Another Failure by Temu Caesar

The U.S. has withdrawn most of the troops that were sent to Nigeria earlier this year to help root out Islamic State insurgents, according to the head of U.S. Africa Command, as the military pivots toward what it describes as an African-led model for security cooperation.

"I came, I saw, I bombed, I left." Not sure what that's in Latin, but that's pretty much what happened.

A splashy attack, then Trump gets bored and turns to find some other place to drop bombs on. He's like a squirrel with a gun.

One Side Plays Chess, One Side Plays “Chutes and Ladders”

Paragraph one of the MOU:

The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran and their allies in the current war, by signing this MOU, declare the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and undertake from now on not to initiate any war or any military operation against each other, and to refrain from the threat or use of force against each other, and ensuring the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon. The final deal will confirm the permanent termination of the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and other provisions of this paragraph.

So what does Cadet Bone Spurs do?

High-stakes talks between the US and Iran were expected to continue into the early hours of Monday in Switzerland, a US official said, after a tense start that saw Iranian negotiators walk out in protest at a stream of threats issued by Donald Trump on social media.

This is what happens when one side is represented by seasoned diplomats and the other side by a nepo baby, a corrupt idiot and a guy who overestimates his brilliance, reporting to a sundowner with the impulse control of a toddler. The Iranians put two poison pills in the first paragraph; our Master Negotiator-in-Chief either didn't bother to read it or was too stupid to understand what he signed.

Gentle Readers, we will be fortunate if the final agreement doesn't permit the IRGC to parade down Pennsylvania Ave.

The Art of the Yield.

Trump took us into a war, blew through much of the stock of PGMs, got at least 13 American troops killed, hundreds wounded, killed hundreds of Iranian schoolgirls and what did he accomplish?
  • Iran agrees, as they did in the JCPOA, not to develop a nuclear weapon.
  • No inspection regimen to guarantee that, unlike the JCPOA.
  • Iran and Oman may have control (tolls, fees) of the Strait of Hormuz, which was prewar international waters.
  • Iran gets to import/export oil.
  • Iran gets sanctions relief.
  • Iran gets a $300 billion rebuilding fund, most of which, like Trump's ballroom, will be paid by American taxpayers.
  • US agrees to draw down, if not outright withdraw, forces from the Persian Gulf.

In a nutshell, the US is in a worse position than it was before Trump, Netanyahu and Hegseth began throwing bombs around.

What the world saw was a display of Trump's short attention span. He got bored with negotiations, listened to those other two fools that all we had to do was bomb a bunch of stuff and Iran would give in, then he got bored when the Iranians didn't surrender. And it seems clear that the possibility that the stock market would crater haunts him. Not that he cares about the cost of gas or groceries, just the stock market.

It took the Taliban and the Vietnamese each avout eighteen years to outlast the U.S. It took the Iranians less than four months to outlast Trump.

Somebody is going to get thrown under the bus for what everyone outside of the MAGAverse is recognizing as a massive geopolitical defeat. Since Trump never takes the blame for anything, the betting prediction websides are probably offering odds.

The TACO War

So let me see if I understand this: Trump and Netanyahu started a four-month war against Iran, burning through much of America's stock of PGMs, getting some nearly irreplaceable assets destroyed, costing maybe a hundred billion dollars or more and for what?

It gets us back to the situation the parties were in before Trump threw an armed hissy fit? (Parties talking about the Iranian nuclear program.) And the proposed final deal will differ from the JCPOA deal that Trump ripped up in 2018 in no meaningful way, other than Iran gets a lot more money. $327 billion, to be precise. Trump mocked Obama for giving Iran "pallets of cash"; that's 6,540 pallets of cash.

To do that, Iran, with a population basically a quarter of the U.S. and a GDP equivalent to that of Missouri, fought the U.S. and Israel to a standstill. It showed that they have a lever to use on the global economy. The regime cemented its control.

Worse for Trump, with his near-constant statement that a deal was close over the last 100 days, has shown the world that he is an insane fabulist without a firm grasp on reality. The crap put out by him and Rubio, among others, was so unhinged that more and more of the world's leaders and media were turning to the Iranians for confirmation.

Well, one has to hand it to Trump. He worked fast. Unlike the Vietnam War, which he dodged and which took over a decade, he got America's ass handed to it in less than four months.

Trump Hits the Big Five-Oh

That is how many times he has claimed to be close to making a deal with Iran.

But every time he says that, the idiots who trade stocks go batshit. And then.... nothing.

Because they, and most of the potable borders, are gullible fools. They simply do not seem to understand that Trump is delusional and spins his own fantastical world.

The Iran War Chatter (Updated)

It would seem to be this: An end of hostilities with the Iranians, the Iranians open the Strait, the US drops the blockade, $25 billion in sanctioned Iranian assets are released and the issue of Iran's uranium stockpile and further enrichment are set aside for further negotiation.

To get there, the global economy has been shaken, there will be shortages of many oil-based goods for months to come (not to mention fertilizer and helium), the United States has burned through much of its arsenal of precision weapons, precious military assets have been wasted, allies have been essentially lost (levying tariffs on them didn't help any), and its enemies have been enboldened. And for what?

In short, the United States has spend tens of billions of dollars to end up in a worse position than it was before the war started. It will be lucky if the end deal is within a mile of the agreement that Trump ripped up eight years ago because it was negotiated by Obama. So. Much. Winning.

As for the war itself, the world, not including MAGA, will recognize one point: Trump lost his war.

Which is why Trump will likely pivot to invading Cuba, so he can have a win. Or so he thinks.

Trump Steals Money From Kids

The Trump administration is nearing an agreement with TikTok to resolve an ongoing lawsuit over alleged child privacy violations in exchange for the social media company paying $400 million that the administration plans to use to fund President Donald Trump's Washington, D.C., "beautification" projects, sources familiar with the discussions told ABC News.

Normally, damages in a case are used to compensate victims. But the Orange Dementia Patient wants to use the money to pay for his Arc d'Trump, because even he has realized that Congress and his coterie of supllicant billionares won't pay for it. So he's going to steal money that should go to victims to pay for his vainglorious arch.

Even he knows that nobody is going to construct monuments to him once he shuffles off this mortal plane to Hell. After he's dead, nobody's going to name anything after him other than toxic waste incineration plants and public bathrooms.

When there is a drive to get down to the truth of his corruption, treason and self-dealing, one of the things that will happen (Lord willing) is tearing down that arch (if it's built) and restoring the other things he has defiled with his so-called "improvements".

A Truth About Trump's War

He's flailing around, looking for an exit. Everyone knows this.

The president said America’s allies in the Gulf asked him to put off the attack for two to three days because they feel they are close to a deal with Iran.

“It’s a very positive development, but we’ll see whether or not it amounts to anything,” Trump said. “We’ve had periods of time where we had, we thought, pretty much getting close to making a deal, and it didn’t work out. But this is a little bit different.

The danger here is that wannabee autocrats who get painted into a corner can lash out and it's even riskier if they're also stupid. Every time he threatens impending action, he backs off. The Iranians are likely believing that he's bluffing.

Trump is a bully who counts on his enemies folding in th feace of his bluster. The Iranians aren't folding.

Any Democrat Who Doesn’t Run on This is a Fool

Trump's ballroom, which he said was going to cost $200 million, then $300 million, and will be built with private donations is now going to cost taxpayers $1 billion.

You know that Emperor Bone Spurs's Temu Versailles addition was never going to be built with his money or with private donations, as he swore up and down it would be. He was always going to stick the taxpayers with its cost.

As the cost of gas keeps climbing, farmers get pushed into bankruptcy, airlines fail, the cost of everything else goes up because of rising cost of oil, and as this stupid war with Iran costs multiple tens of billions of dollars, he is laser-focused on his ballroom.

That's the only thing he cares about.

The wrecking ball swings on 1-21-2029.

Trump Takes Airline and 17,000 Jobs

Spirit Airlines, an impish upstart that shook the industry with its irreverent ads and deep discount fares, announced Saturday that it has gone out of business after 34 years.

The ultralow cost airline that once operated hundreds of daily flights on its bright yellow planes and employed about 17,000 people said it had “started an orderly wind-down of our operations, effective immediately.”

Although Spirit had gone bankrupt twice before, the company said high oil prices, which have been rising because of the war with Iran, made it impossible to stay aloft.

Make no mistake, Trump and Netanyahu are the ones who caused all of those people to lose their jobs. You might recall that a year ago, those two caused Iran's nuclear facilities to be bombed. Dimbulb Donnie claimed that Iran's nuclear program had been obliterated, but less than a year later, he felt the need to attack on the same rationale.

The price of jet fuel has nearly doubled and that drove Spirit under, because of his stupid war.

The ripple effect will spread far beyond those 17,000 employees and every last one of them who will now deal with the ramifications of sudden unemployment of Spirit's workers have one person to thank: Donald John Trump.
