Elon Musk is Several Froot Loops Short of a Full Bowl

He seems to have absolutely lost his shit over the casting of The Odyssey.

I gather that none of his handlers have managed to convince him that The Odyssey is a myth. It's a story that may have a kernel of truth in its core, but it may not. Hell, scholars debate whether or not the Trojan War occurred or if there was some ancient conflict over 3,000 years ago that was mythologized into the Trojan War. Odysseus probably didn't exist, but even if he did, most of the creatures described in the take didn't exist-- witches, sirens, multi-headed sea monsters, cyclopses, Greek gods, etc.

I don't know how one has a "historically accurate" representation of something that never happened in the first place, but then I'm not the World's Richest Parasite.

An Offense Too Far

This:
The American Conservative Union has rescinded its invitation to Milo Yiannopoulos to speak at the group’s annual CPac conference, after footage emerged in which the rightwing provocateur discusses sex between “younger boys” and older men. ... He goes on to suggest that sex between “younger boys” and older men could be a “coming-of-age relationship … in which those older men help those younger boys discover who they are”.
And this:
“Due to the revelation of an offensive video in the past 24 hours condoning pedophilia, the American Conservative Union has decided to rescind the invitation,” said Matt Schlapp, chairman of the group which sponsors CPAC, in a statement Monday afternoon. The group called Yiannopoulos to “further address these disturbing comments,” but defended its original decision to invite him as a nod to “the free speech issue on college campuses.”
So, CPAC invited him to underscore their commitment to free speech, but then disinvited him because he was saying things that they didn't want to be associated with.

Turdlet can say things that are racist, homophobic, transphobic, antisemitic, neonazi, you name it, because freedom of speech. CPAC invited him because others have protested and rioted when he was spreading his slime. CPAC was trying to take what it saw as the moral high road in supporting free speech regardless of the contest of the speech.

Hard to be a bunch of free speech absolutists, CPAC, when you disinvite somebody because you found what they said to be repellent.

Chick-fil-A

By now, you probably are aware that the president of Chick-fil-A, a clown named Dan Cathy, is pretty much one of those right-wing homophobic bigots. He has caused his company to donate large sums of money to groups that espouse hatred and advocate for discriminating against gays.

That's their right under the Constitution. The douchenozzles in Boston and Chicago (yeah, I'm referring to you, Mumbles Menino and Ratfucker Emanuel) who are trying to use zoning laws to keep out Chick-fil-A are completely nuts and wholly out of line. Kind of what I expected, though, from Chicago, which is largely a Constitution-free city. But from Boston, the self-proclaimed "birthplace of liberty"?

However, it is also my right not to spend any of my money on their rat-feces-laced chicken sandwiches.

But if you want to go there and say that you support his right to be an asshole, feel free. Just don't be too surprised if other people assume that, by proclaiming your support for Chick-fil-A, you are also supporting their agenda of bigotry.

Out of Power, Out of the Closet

Ken Mehlman, President Bush's campaign manager in 2004 and a former chairman of the Republican National Committee, has told family and associates that he is gay.
Of course he comes out after the party of the Confederacy is out of power (and he's safely in the private sector and working in the second-most gay friendly city in the nation). When Melman was working for Chimpy and when he was head of the RNC, if he had said "hey, folks, I'm gay," they would have run him out of DC faster than Bob Irsay yanked the Colts out of Baltimore.

Scratch a Virulent Homophobe, Find a Closeted Homosexual

It more and more seems that the men in public life who are virulent homophobes are all turning out to be closeted gay men.  In this case, the clown in question is one George Alan Rekers, a Baptist preacher and co-founder of the "Focus on the Family", a group that specializes in advocating censorship and providing intellectual cover for gay bashers.

Reker went on a vacation with a male prostitute, whom he had hired through a web site which advertises "rent boys". And, if you read between the lines of the story, ol' Reker seems to be quite the chickenhawk.

One Seriously Self-Hating Faggot. Or a Quisling.

Republican state Sen. Roy Ashburn of Bakersfield announced on a Kern County radio station Monday that he is gay, but said he likely will continue to vote against legislation that would expand rights for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Californians because his constituents would want him to do so.
If this douchebag was Black, he'd have tried to join the fucking Klan. It's pretty hard to talk about this bipedal piece of excrement without running afoul of Godwin's Law.

Hey, Ashburn, if your constituents wanted you to blow your frakking brains out, would you do it?

You Just Have to Love Those "Family Values" Republicans

Especially when they allegedly get caught stepping out of their alleged closets:
Sources tell CBS13 a state senator from Southern California was arrested for allegedly driving drunk after leaving Faces, a gay nightclub in midtown Sacramento, early Wednesday morning.

The California Highway Patrol pulled over Senator Roy Ashburn at 2:00 a.m. Wednesday after an officer noticed a black Chevy Tahoe swerving at 13th and L Streets.

...

Ashburn, a father of four, is a Republican Senator representing parts of Kern, Tulare and San Bernardino Counties with a history of opposing gay rights.
Oh, I get it: He was conducting research into the gay lifestyle.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

UPDATE: It now seems that the hypocritical little fuckwad has been doing his research at gay nightclubs in Sacramento for years. Like West Sacramento Mayor Christopher Cabaldon, I don't have a problem with Ashburn doing a little fudge-packing in his free time, but I have a big problem with his both being a closeted gay man and his promoting an anti-gay agenda. It would be like a Jew going from Sabbath services to participate in a skinhead event.

Guess They Won't Be Deluged With Clients

Former Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) and Chief of Staff Michael Ware are considering forming a consulting firm, the former aide confirmed on Thursday. ... According to the Idaho Statesman, Craig told a group of business executives in December that, after leaving the Senate, he planned on forming a consulting firm that focused on issues important to Western business, such as enforcement of the Endangered Species Act.
I can just see the clients beating down his door.
The former senator is reportedly also planning to write a book.
Working title: "How to Pick Up Men In an Airport Bathroom."

Another Gay-Bashing Closet Case

That would be the Alabama Attorney General, Troy King. Yes indeed, another virulently anti-gay Republican politician is busted while having sex with another person of the same sex. This particular asswipe was outed by his own wife, who found him in the marital bed with one of his assistants.

The fact that he was also the Alabama Chairman of the McCain Campaign is just a bit of a bonus.

You Just Might Be a Hypocrite

The ACLU is coming to defend Larry Craig's right to cruise for gay sex in airport bathrooms.

When you are a Republican and you call in the ACLU to defend yourself, you just might be a hypocrite. The Republicans just love to bash the ACLU, but it sure seems whenever one of them gets their dick caught in a wringer, they love to scream for the ACLU to come to their aid.

Could they be any more hypocritical? Could they be any more desperate?

Wide-Stance Larry, cont.

Five men have come out to claim that they had sex with Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID).

Not too surprisingly, Craig denies it and thinks he is the victim of a conspiracy.

I'll bet that right about now, somebody from the Republican National Campaign Committee is surfing the web to see if they can rent a wood-chipper...

Yet Another GOP Closet Case

Washington State Representative Richard Curtis (R-Closet), who has a solid anti-gay record, resigned after it came out that he had sex with another man at a video store.

All of these jerks need to be outed.

Not Even "Low-Hanging Fruit"

They had to be on LSD when they came up with this logo:The Republicans are going to make the rest of us look lazy.

Elephants apparently only get up on their hind legs to have sex. So we have a blue elephant, wearing prison stripes, in a wide stance and fucking the year 2008 in a location that is in the same city where Wide-Stance Larry did his thing.

How hard is it to make fun of these people? This is about as challenging as jack-lighting a deer over a salt lick.

You Just Can't Make This Shit Up

(From Crooks & Liars)

Wide-Stance Larry's favorite food is something called a "Super Tuber." You ream out an Idaho potato and cram a hotdog into it.

The jokes just write themselves, these days.

Wide-Stance Larry is Still Guilty.

The judge in Minnesota rejected his request to withdraw his guilty plea.

This putz has been a senator for almost three full terms and he was a congressman for ten years before that, you'd think that after 28 years of making laws, he'd have some idea about the law. By pleading guilty, he bet the farm on nobody connecting the dots. He lost.

I'm glad he's staying around, if only for the entertainment value and the added bonus of having another "Republican family values" politician to kick around. I imagine the folks in Idaho might feel differently, though.

And, in what happens to be a fine example of "Karma is a bitch," the Republicans are holding their 2008 convention in Minneapolis. So you just know there will be a whole flock of camera crews seeking to do a stand-up at the scene of the crime in the Minneapolis airport.

Oh, this is going to be so much fun!

The comedians and bloggers of the world thank you, Larry.

Irony May Not Be Dead

Senator Larry Craig (R/Gay-UT ID), voted against the Matthew Shepard Act.

Irony may not be dead, but neither is self-hatred by closet cases.

Of course, George Bush is determined to protect the rights of gay-bashers to commit their brand of terrorism.

(Corrected re: name of the state)
