Mapping These Down, Here

Every statement by these clowns is an admission:

Corruption Large and Small, It All Goes for Trump

He bought five million smackaroos in stock in Axon Enterprise. Axon makes Tasers.

Two weeks later, DHS issued a $220 million RFP for Tasers.
Oh, the RFP doesn't name tasers per se, but the wording is such that only Tasers qualify for purchase.

Which, other than the specific corruption part, is not terribly unusual. The Feebie cops frequently issue RFPs for guns that are only met by one company (usually, Glock).

But yeah, this stinks.

Johnny Roberts and His Fascist Five Forget One Thing

Every tool they hand to Trump to expand his power, as they did yesterday in the Slaughter case, is a tool that a Democratic president can and will use. (At least for a little while.)

For example, expect that the next president will immediately fire the board of the FCC.

But this is what'll happen, Gentle Reader: Whoever gets fired will sue, it'll go to the Supreme Court. There, Johnny and his Fascist Trolls will say "oh, we got it wrong, presidents can't fire members of independent boards, we shouldn't have overturned Humprey's Executor." That'll happen with every case where they expanded Trump's powers.

Because all six of them are deeply, orally and ethically corrupt as fuck. If you have any doubt, note that they were really eager to limit Biden's power but they do what they can to expand Trump's. They are nothing but naked partisans in black robes.

Texas is For Racists

Texas is doing this absolute best to promote Christian nationalism and deny that racism has been a problem, including whitewashing the Klan as much as possible. For example, the Tulsa Massacre in 1921 is now deemed a "riot".

Scratch a person who says that America is a Christian nation and you'll find a racist and a religious bigot.

ICE, America's Secret Police

They are taking the stance that even mentioning the name of an ICE agent is illegal.

Two U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents issued a warning to a Syracuse woman Tuesday to remove a social media account they said threatens federal agents.

Paigelynne Gonyea said she believes they are referring to a January post where she named the ICE agent who shot protester Renee Good.
...
The agents handed Gonyea a form letter that says they were investigating threats made against ICE personnel. The form says the agents had identified an Instagram account they believe breaks federal law. They asked her to remove and discontinue the behavior, according to the unsigned document she shared on Instagram.
...
Gonyea posts frequently about immigration on her social media accounts. In January, she posted the name of Jonathan Ross, citing news reports. Ross is the ICE agent who shot protester Renee Good in Minnesota. His name has been widely reported in news stories and other social media posts across the world.
...
Gonyea said she does not consider it doxxing to quote a news story and call for an indictment.

“I didn’t dox his personal information, such as address, phone number,” she said.
...
David Brody, one of the two agents, said he could not answer questions from a reporter.

I don't know if mentioning the name of one of the ICE goons is enough to get their panties in a twist, or saying that one believes is that the named agent committed a crime and should be indicted is the threshhold.

But what is scary is that ICE is taking the time to go around and intimidate citizens who publicly oppose their Gestapoesque methods.

Trump’s Weird Pool of Slime

Soldiers, mounted cops, cameras and now fencing to protect Trump's Pool of Sludge, AKA the Strait of Warm Ooze.

Authorities began installing fencing and cameras around the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool as President Donald Trump alleges vandals have been destroying the administration's multimillion-dollar renovations at the site.

Workers began erecting a chain-link fence around the pool's perimeter on Tuesday evening, alongside overhead cameras installed by the pool's edge, which can be seen in a livestream video from MS NOW. A spokesperson for the Interior Department told the Washington Examiner the fencing was set to go up before July 4 celebrations but was installed early because of the alleged vandalism.

The "vandalism" which, as the rest of us know, is a figment of Donnie's demented and failing brain.

But what should we have expected? This is a lunatic who, after all, believes that asylum-seekers are escapees from mental hodpitals.

Fishy, That

Millions of Americans with obesity are eagerly awaiting a powerful new drug from Eli Lilly called retatrutide, which has demonstrated bariatric-surgery levels of weight loss. Some aren’t even waiting for approval from the Food and Drug Administration, instead racing to acquire it through sketchy means.

But STAT has learned that Eli Lilly and the FDA have allowed one person to gain access to the drug through the FDA’s “compassionate use” program, a pathway that gives patients with serious and immediately life-threatening medical issues access to experimental treatments.

This person was a 79-year-old man at the time the request was made in April, according to three sources familiar with the matter. Those sources, who requested anonymity due to fear of reprisals, said it drew the interest of top health officials, suggesting the person receiving this drug was well connected.

An obese man who was 79 years old in April and who is politically connected enough to get top FDA officials interested in intervening to give him the drug.

I wonder who that could be......

One Side Plays Chess, One Side Plays “Chutes and Ladders”

Paragraph one of the MOU:

The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran and their allies in the current war, by signing this MOU, declare the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and undertake from now on not to initiate any war or any military operation against each other, and to refrain from the threat or use of force against each other, and ensuring the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon. The final deal will confirm the permanent termination of the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and other provisions of this paragraph.

So what does Cadet Bone Spurs do?

High-stakes talks between the US and Iran were expected to continue into the early hours of Monday in Switzerland, a US official said, after a tense start that saw Iranian negotiators walk out in protest at a stream of threats issued by Donald Trump on social media.

This is what happens when one side is represented by seasoned diplomats and the other side by a nepo baby, a corrupt idiot and a guy who overestimates his brilliance, reporting to a sundowner with the impulse control of a toddler. The Iranians put two poison pills in the first paragraph; our Master Negotiator-in-Chief either didn't bother to read it or was too stupid to understand what he signed.

Gentle Readers, we will be fortunate if the final agreement doesn't permit the IRGC to parade down Pennsylvania Ave.

Smells Like Nepo-Baby Corruption

The 22-year-old son of Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) — one of Capitol Hill’s most prominent boosters of cryptocurrency legislation — has reportedly raised $30 million to launch a derivatives exchange startup that is already valued at $300 million.

Theodore Gillibrand, whose mother has emerged as a leading advocate for crypto regulation and stablecoin legislation, secured the funding round for his startup, American Perpetuals Exchange Corporation, or APEC, Fortune reported.

The fundraising was led by venture capital firm Lux Capital, according to Fortune, which cited sources familiar with the matter.

Right, because any 22-year-old can raise $30 million right out of the gate for a new business venture.

This smells as badly as a Trump-family crypto scam.

The Butthurt of the Trump

He's got cops all aound the Reflecting Pool and they're giving out tickets to anyone who touches the water.

"Whadja do at work today, Dad?"

"I ticketed people who dared to touch Our Dear Leader's green slime."

Bet those guys now wish they'd joined the fire department.

UPDATE: Now the National Guard is there. I did not have "deploy soldiers to guard an algae-ridden pool" on my 2026 bingo card. This just get dumber and dumber.

Don't Worry, Guy, Ken Paxton Will Get You Sprung

A former Hays County GOP leader has been sentenced to 410 years in prison after being convicted of 65 sexual abuse and child pornography charges.

The Art of the Yield.

Trump took us into a war, blew through much of the stock of PGMs, got at least 13 American troops killed, hundreds wounded, killed hundreds of Iranian schoolgirls and what did he accomplish?
  • Iran agrees, as they did in the JCPOA, not to develop a nuclear weapon.
  • No inspection regimen to guarantee that, unlike the JCPOA.
  • Iran and Oman may have control (tolls, fees) of the Strait of Hormuz, which was prewar international waters.
  • Iran gets to import/export oil.
  • Iran gets sanctions relief.
  • Iran gets a $300 billion rebuilding fund, most of which, like Trump's ballroom, will be paid by American taxpayers.
  • US agrees to draw down, if not outright withdraw, forces from the Persian Gulf.

In a nutshell, the US is in a worse position than it was before Trump, Netanyahu and Hegseth began throwing bombs around.

What the world saw was a display of Trump's short attention span. He got bored with negotiations, listened to those other two fools that all we had to do was bomb a bunch of stuff and Iran would give in, then he got bored when the Iranians didn't surrender. And it seems clear that the possibility that the stock market would crater haunts him. Not that he cares about the cost of gas or groceries, just the stock market.

It took the Taliban and the Vietnamese each avout eighteen years to outlast the U.S. It took the Iranians less than four months to outlast Trump.

Somebody is going to get thrown under the bus for what everyone outside of the MAGAverse is recognizing as a massive geopolitical defeat. Since Trump never takes the blame for anything, the betting prediction websides are probably offering odds.
