We've sold you guys plenty of weapons, as have the French, the British, the Russians and the Chinese.
So gather your armies, form a coalition, and do the job yourselves.
Leave us the frak out of it.
Very truly yours,
The U.S.A.

send that in a goddamn cable
But... but... then they might have to get their hands dirty! They have people for that, y'know. Called *US*.
Sorta like when Saddam invaded Kuwait. Allah forbid that the Saudis use all that sophisticated US-provided gear to take on Saddam themselves! Instead, they, err, paid us to do it. (As in, yes, paid 100% of the cost for Operation Desert Storm).
That's just how they hang. They're cowards and spoiled aristocrats. They don't "do" war anymore, not since Lawrence of Arabia anyhow, and even then they more did the "rampage through the streets and steal and loot anything we can find" than war in the traditional sense...

BadTux, besides the nuclear weapon question, it also gets to why 50-90 or so million Arabs have been able to defeat a country of 1-5 million Jews. No way in hell are the Arabs going to take on 70 million Persians.
Besides that, there is the issue that the Arab armies have, since the 1970s, been concentrating on suppressing dissidents. They are not capable of going after those who might shoot back at them.
The same thing is true of the Israelis, I suppose. It's been almost 40 years since they had to fight an enemy that could engage them with tanks, aircraft and artillery.
And, sad to say, the same may be true of us, after nearly ten years of COIN operations. I don't know how much our forces are trained now to fight an enemy who has weapons above that of RPGs and IEDs and who can shoot back with them, but I suspect that the answer is "poorly".
Hear, hear.
