In 2010, the Space Shuttle fleet will be retired. That means, for at least five years, the only way to get to or from the International Space Station will be on board Soyuz space capsules, operated by the Russians.
Four years after deciding to retire the Space Shuttles, NASA is finally waking up to the idea that relying on the Russians for access to the ISS might not be such a good idea.
Can anybody in this misbegotten Administration think further ahead than what they are going to chow down on for their next meal?
