The Passing of a Quiet Hero

Mildred Jeter Loving, dead at 68. She was the Loving in Loving v. Virginia, the case that overturned bans on interracial marriages.

She stood up for what was right. And unlike a lot of other people who became famous for what they did decades ago, she sought no fame or fortune from it.
