In the Midst of All the Crap About Addington ("Joe") Wilson, Let's Not Forget What the Republicans Brought Us

The Republicans brought us a decade in which Americans largely got poorer. Median household income has fallen 4.2% since 2000. Only the rich did better, so Bush and his fellow thugs achieved what they set out to do: Make the rich richer and everyone else poorer.

The Onion's parody in January of 2001 turned out to be not humor, but an accurate rendition of things to come.
Mere days from assuming the presidency and closing the door on eight years of Bill Clinton, president-elect George W. Bush assured the nation in a televised address Tuesday that "our long national nightmare of peace and prosperity is finally over."
It was, indeed.
