"Prosecutors assert that [Salim Ahmed Hamdan] was not only bin Laden's driver, but also part of an elite bodyguard force and an arms courier for Al Qaeda. They said he was captured in Afghanistan in 2001 with shoulder-fired missiles that could only have been meant for American aircraft."
"An elite bodyguard force" certainly applies to Blackwater and there have been untold numbers of civilians driving trucks loaded with arms from Kuwait into Iraq. Using the logic of the Bush Administration, all of those folks are war criminals, as none of them were in a recognized military force and none of them were in uniform.
Take heed, if you have worked for those companies. What our nation is doing today may come back to haunt you.

We could only hope. Of course, they will come home when the carpetbags are full and never set foot abroad again. What I don't understand is how so many folks call these asshats patriots---they screw the military guys six ways from Sunday. The attempt of a recruitment talk to my own son was basically to the effect that he should think of his 8 years of military service just as "paid training" to now cash in upon. Assholes.
People who go into the military or into the civilian service of the government to serve their country are patriots.
Those who go to a war zone because they are being paid oodles of money are mercenaries. Mercenaries are not afforded the status of "enemy combatant" and, traditionally, could be executed upon capture.
Something the folks at KBR and Blackwater need to keep in mind.
