The Latest "Big Lie" of the Right

Their latest scare tactic is that "ZOMG, The Chinese are drilling for oil off the coast of Cuba!"

The problem is, of course, that it is not true. The Right knows it, but like the good little adherents to the Gospel of Goebbels that they are, the fact that it is not true will never stop them from claiming that is. You probably won't be shocked to read that Dick Cheney is one of the primary spreaders of this particular line of propaganda. But then, Cheney has never shown any regard for the truth if a lie suits his purposes, and since he is the Vice President for Torture, Aggression and Oil, this lie suits him just fine.

(Note also that Mel Martinez supports drilling in ANWAR but not off the coast of Florida, which is standard hypocrisy for the GOP.)
