Lesson #1 in Criminal Defense Practice Is...

...Get all of the money up front. Clients who lose have no incentive to pay.

Exhibit 1:

Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein's former confidante now serving a 20-year prison sentence for child sex trafficking, is being sued for more than $878,000 in unpaid legal fees by a law firm representing her, according to court documents.

The lawyers are also suing her brother, claiming that he assured them that he'd pay. If they didn't get that in writing, then they are dumber than they look.

Yep, that's what the bankruptcy lawyers do. They know who/what their clients are. I suspect the criminal attorneys do too.
