NYPD Off-Duty: The Good and the Bad.

One off-duty cop got into a shoot-out with a robber and shot the gun out of his hand.

Another off-duty cop got drunk and raped a woman.

5 Brickbats Thrown:

  1. Yep. Broad spectrum there. Unfortunately getting broader all the time.

  2. ... shot the gun out of his hand.

If he was that good a shot, he shoulda put one between his eyes but then, I've seen the NYPD shoot. Lucky.

  3. Fixer, I think that shot was pure luck. Either way, the cop won a stand-up gunfight at close range, which is no small thing.

  4. Stress makes a poorly trained shooter lose it and the trained one accurate enough. Oddly enough thugs may have guns but rarely are they trained or accurate with them. After all they have it but can't take it anywhere to practice.

She did good with a standard 38 (based on article).

Considering the cost of .44mag ammo and the need to show ID or even A license to get it make the few bullets he had "too valuable to waste". I'd wonder if thug had fired that gun more than once.

    Practice, often!
