Sadly, I have faded photographs of myself wearing those early 70's children's styles. Nobody wore jeans and t-shirts to school back then... I don't think I even had jeans (or a non-white t-shirt) until I was in high school, after the 70's fashions suddenly became, uhm, un-fashionable.
By the late `60s, my family had moved to a town that had dropped the idea of a dress code for school. So I wore jeans throughout high school.
