Screaming Me-Me! It wasn't the first, Heinlein was the first in Star Beast (1957) to fly logs; the when and where aside it was either a Boeing Vertal or S58T (coincidentally 1957). 5,000 lb lift, it wasn't really suited to logging, at least not the kind of logging we were doing then. I've heard that passenger cabin configuration was kinda' spooky

I started in the Navy in an H-34, the forerunner of that beast. Actually, the H-58 is the civilian version of the H-34 . 1820 P&W radial, then converted to the H-58T, or Screaming Meme...
