Mylar balloons and the DoD's jonesing to play with its new laser toys may have caused the El Paso and Santa Teresa TFRs this morning. It may also have been the result of a bureaucratic pissing contest between the DoD and the FAA.
No matter what was going down, it looks like yet another Federal clusterfuck as the Boyos From Fort Fumble want to screw around with their new shit, which disrupted the travel plans of thousands of people and screwed with cargo commerce.

Just read that it was actually the Border Patrol, who had borrowed the laser from DoD. So trump*s Gestapo cowboys are at the root of yet another clusterfuck.
Assuming that no-fly policy extended to the border, I wonder how much came across that border while *surveillance drones* were grounded.
Pretty slick move if that is what this actually was.
