The Federal Aviation Administration is closing the airspace around El Paso International Airport in Texas for 10 days, grounding all flights to and from the airport.M.
Besides the El Paso TFR, there is one next door in NM.
To close down a major airport for ten days is extremely unusual. To show how rushed this was, the El Paso graphic overlaps Juarez, but the text exempts Mexican airspace. As it should, because the FAA has no jurisdiction there.
Something is going on and, given how this administration operates, it's something on the spectrum between merely bad and viciosly evil. For nobody whatsoever got advance notice.
This is from a City Councilman:
There is no carve-out for medevac flights. So if the choice is between a medevac and dying, call the funeral home. Incompetence and cruelty are the operating hallmarks of the Trump administration.

There another more or less triangle shaped TFR just west of El Paso along the border as well.
No notice was given to anyone. I know a dude at that airport and the tower got less than an hours notice that the airport was shut down.
And then they cancel it without explanation. WTF?
OK whats going on at Biggs?
Eck!
