Besides the anthrax attacks and the failed shoe bombing in 2001, there was the D.C. sniper, the killing of Bill Gwatney and the clown who shot up a church in 2008, but the last two were Right-wing nutjobs, so they probably don't count as far as Rudy the Dain-Bramaged is concerned.

Whatever happened to Rudy noun verb 9/11 Giuliani. It's all he could talk about for years. Mary Matelin said the same thing on CNN last week, she got away with it too.
what it would take is a reporter or moderator to say "why are you lying", but fat chance that will happen.
We're apparently seeing an attempt to push historical revisionism to the extreme. They're experimenting to see how little they have to wait to erase their mistakes, and they're being particularly impatient about it!
