That is the attitude of the Sheriff's Department in Maricopa County, Arizona. A Sheriff's Deputy rifled through the papers of a defense attorney during a court recess. He was caught on camera doing it.
Now he is in jail for contempt of court. And what do his buddies do? They stage a mass sick-out and call in a bomb threat. The Sheriff, a noted far-right Wingnut in his own right, doesn't think that his minion was doing anything wrong.
In Maricopa County, the law is for the little people to obey. The Sheriff's Department is above the law, at least in their own minds. They seem to be taking their clues from the conduct of police departments in most Third-World nations.
Which is another reason to just stay the hell out of Arizona.

Have you looked at the demographics for Phoenix for the last 10 years?
lol
I thought that type of sheriff and his men were run out of town by Charlie's Angels. And the Incredible Hulk. And the A-Team. And Airwolf. And Knight Rider.
Hmm. I wonder if the writers for those episodes lived in Arizona.
