Why Your Electronic Devices Blow Up If You Try to Use Them in Another Country

There are at least 12 different kinds of sockets and at least two voltages.

Most of *my* electronic devices are dual-voltage and will operate anywhere. For example, the power supply to my Macbook will input 100 to 240 volts at 50 to 60 cycles, no problem. Same deal with the charger for my iPhone. Same deal with my Norelco electric razor, for that matter. All they need to operate anywhere is the appropriate adaptor for the local power plugs.

I think Radio Shack still sells power converters. Anyway, they're still around. Before visiting furriners, check to see what their power requirements are.
