Four cops were gunned down this morning at a coffee shop in a suburb of Tacoma, Washington.
All four were wearing body armor, which says to me that the shooter was either using a weapon that was powerful enough to blow through a kevlar vest or he was calm enough to engage four armed cops and head-shoot all of them. I wouldn't want to bet any serious money on this guy living long enough for a trial.

I have frankly been surprised that there are not more officer killings. The job of police officer is not even on the top ten of most dangerous jobs in terms of deaths per 1,000, most of which are construction jobs, and that does not make much sense considering that, thanks to the War On (some) Drugs, street gangs are wealthier and better-armed every passing year. You'd think that the gang-bangers would decide they'd be able to make more profit without cops around and take out the cops with that heavy weaponry they've been amassing. But it doesn't seem to be happening on a mass scale, perhaps because so many of the gangs *are* the cops nowdays and vice-versa given how low police hiring standards have become.
It will be interesting to see who this guy is when they catch him... if they catch him. Usually the only time the cops catch someone is when the perp boasts about his crime and someone drops a dime on him. If the perp keeps his mouth shut, he's more likely to die of old age than be caught by the cops.
