First, take some time out of your comfortable day and read "Surviving the Crackdown in Xinjiang", about both the genocidal crackdown on the Uighurs and one woman's experience in being swept up in it. (If you prefer print, it's in the April 12th edition of The New Yorker and the title of the print article is "Ghost Walls".)
The questions for corporations is this: Are you going to participate in the 2022 Winter Olympics, which are being hosted by a country that is actively and energetically trying to erase an entire people?
Is there any doubt in anyone's mind that, sooner or later, there will be a global war that will be started because of Chinese territorial ambitions? Do we bury our heads in the sand and pretend that's not going to happen until it does?
And while I'm on that line of thought, does anyone seriously believe that such a war will be fought only with "conventional" weaponry?

The little story has it that someone asked Einstein what the weapons of World War III would be. He is alleged to replied that he had no idea, but that the weapons of World War IV would be stones.
It is now clear that the weapon of World War III will be software.
The difference between the Chinese and much of the rest of the world is that the Chinese see no need to disguise genocide with the euphemism "politics".

When the world wakes up and realizes we're not gonna' make it I have no doubt some tin-pot dictator will toss a few nukes, just for shits n' giggles.
I don't know. We got through the 1936 Olympics without too much drama. Of course the drama started 3 years later, but how will this be different?
