The revelation that a political ally of Gaetz’s, Joel Greenberg, is seeking to strike a plea deal with investigators came during a hearing Thursday at federal court in Orlando. It’s a significant step in the case and signals that Greenberg could potentially serve as a witness in the Justice Department’s investigation into Gaetz.
I'd upgrade that from "potentially" to "highly likely". When a politician is immeshed in a criminal scandal and an associate cops a plea, it's dead-nuts certain that the plea deal will be seasoned with a few dashes of snitching. It'll be the snitching that results in a heavy downward departure from the sentencing guidelines, and/or gets all sentences to run concurrently.

I can't help but laugh at a meme going around, that Gaetz's problems came to light not long after he got in Dick Cheney's spawns' face.
