Reflexive Liars

I have come to the conclusion that the Bush Administration lies about anything and everything. Their first impulse is to lie. It doesn't matter if it is a big lie or a lie about stuff that nobody would have otherwise cared about. They are so arrogant that they think they just won't get caught.

Two examples:

Big lie: DNI McConnell told Congress that the Germans were able to execute recent terror arrests because of changes to the FISA law. It turns out that was a lie.

Small lie: The White House sent out Rosh Hashonah greetings on September 5th. Rosh Hashonah yesterday (9/12) at sundown. When asked why they sent them out a week in advance, the White House said that they typically do it that way. Except that Dan Froomkin of the Washington Post looked up all of the past Bush White House greetings sent out for Rosh Hashonah and, guess what? They never sent them out more than a day in advance before.

They lie. About everything. Their first impulse is to lie.

The safest thing to do, when reading a Bush Administration pronouncement or listening to a speech by a Bush Administration official, is to assume that every word is a lie, including "the" and "and", unless proven otherwise.

Hell, that has been going on since the Greeks staged the first democratic election. Almost all politicians lie on reflex. This is just the latest batch.

Probably true, but this particular clown has lied to get us into a war and is lying to keep us in it, for which tens of thousands of Americans have paid a blood price.

"Despicable" is high praise when that term is applied to Bush.

I also remember Vietnam; that was a trumped up mess(so-called Tonkin Gulf incident) and McNamara even later admitted that they knew they couldn't win it. It's been my experience that whoever is the latest screw-up is usually heralded as "the worst one yet", at least until the next politician pisses everyone off. Republican, Democrat, I have no use for them in their present form.
