A blog by a "sucker" and a "loser" who served her country in the Navy.
If you're one of the Covidiots who believe that COVID-19 is "just the flu",
that the 2020 election was stolen, or
especially if you supported the 1/6/21 insurrection,
leave now.

I shoot in SASS, the single action shooting society, and it is a lot of fun! We dress up and shoot lead bullets at metal targets and knockdowns against a clock, 5 second penalties for missed targets, 10 sec. for procedure and safety violations. The biggest problem is that you tend to collect a lot of guns! My gun safe is full now, and I am lobbying for a new one for cowboy guns! If you ever get a chance go to a match and try it out, the people who shoot SASS are always happy to meet new folks and love to show off and let people shoot their guns! Good Fun!
I've never seen a SASS match.
You gotta check one out, but watch out, you may be hooked! Check out SASS.com, look for affiliated clubs in your area, they usually have monthly practice matches...
The prices on the lever-guns is a bit much for my blood, at least these days. And I'm not so much interested in beating myself up with a 12-bore, do they allow 20s?
I do have the revolvers, though. No boots or a hat.
You might have trouble with the beard part of being a gunfighter re-enactor too ;).
- Badtux the Bemused Penguin
Actually a marlin-type '92 is relatively affordable, ($450+-) and yes they do allow .20 ga. , and they even allow penguin suits, with or without beards! You don't need have all the guns to check it out, in fact it is a good idea to go and try out a few different options to see what fit's your style. Go forth and shoot, you-all.
