When we last checked in, the Fort Worth cops had celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising by raiding a gay bar and bashing in the head of one of the patrons.
The Fort Worth PD has said that their policy was "flawed" and that they are not doing joint operations with the Texas liquor control folks.
The police chief apologized, though the investigation is ongoing.
The Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission commissioner is being investigated for his comments soon after the raid.
The two TABC agents involved, as well as their supervisor, have been fired.
The man whose head they beat on is recovering, though I've not seen anything that is much newer than two months old. I also haven't seen whether the city has dropped its trumped-up charges against the victim (the standard sort of bullshit charges that cops bring when they have engaged in a bit of brutality).
(This is worth perusing)
The ones your girlfriends warned you about.

Lest you paint all of Texas with a broad brush, in San Antonio our mayor and police chief were grand marshals at our last two gay pride parades.
