The Obama administration said Tuesday it could continue to imprison non-U.S. citizens indefinitely even if they have been acquitted of terrorism charges by a U.S. military commission.Other than not torturing people, this makes Barack Obama different from George Bush and Dick Cheney how, exactly? Obama can string together a coherent paragraph, that's the real difference?
Jeh Johnson, the Defense Department's chief lawyer, told the Senate Armed Services Committee that releasing a detainee who has been tried and found not guilty was a policy decision that officials would make based on their estimate of whether the prisoner posed a future threat.
Between that and hiring a Monsanto thug who is hostile to government inspection of slaughterhouses as the FDA guy in charge of food safety, I'm not seeing a hell of a lot of difference between the two administrations anymore.

If Obama wants to know why his popularity numbers are starting to slip, this is the kinda shit that explains it. He's sticking the finger to those of us whut brung him, blatantly violating promises he made to us. If he ain't careful, he's going to go down in history with Jimmy Carter as the most despised and ineffectual Democratic president of the past fifty years.
