Sedgwick County District Attorney Nola Foulston would not release any details of the crime at a news conference after the hearing, but said evidence against [Asswipe] ruled out the death penalty.Asswipe stalked Dr. Tiller and killed him inside of a house of worship, on holy ground, if you will. From what I know of criminal law, this kind of crime is what the death penalty is for: A deliberate well-planned killing.
I am rather suspicious that the real reason the Wichita Asswipe isn't being tried on a death penalty charge is because it would not go over well with a subset of the voters in Sedgwick County, Kansas.

That is a shocker considering my limited knowledge of the DA. She does not seem to be a friend of the Operation Rescue crowd.

Nooooo, really? Considering the general resemblance of officials to bowls of Jell-O, I just hope the sleazy little slime mold gets a significantly lengthy prison sentence--but I'm not counting on it.
The death penalty would make that asswipe a martyr.
Screw that, let's just hope he does not enjoy his life sentence in prison.
Keep in mind that I live here in Kansas. The guy was arrested only a few miles from my house and the battle with the Anti Choice crowd is roaring here.
The guy is a nut case. No...I mean that guy is MORE of a nut case than the rabid anti choice people who he associated with. To put this man to death would be as much murder as his killing of Tiller. You all know what I am talking about. I suspect it is likely that his defense could be not guilty on grounds of mental incompetance.
Putting Asswipe to death would not be murder, it would be "capital punishment," something that the vast majority of the anti-choice crowd is fine with.
Asswipe carried out a planned murder for political purposes. If anything would seem to be worthy of the perp paying for the crime with his life, this is it.
Fry his ass.
It seems to me that since Asswipe is in fact a domestic terrorist, the Federal AG has the right to fry his butt under the Patriot Act and send his worthless hide to a Supermax someplace.
