Whoa- That Ever Happened?

I had the TV on in the background, as I was playing with the cat. The usual ads were blathering and then I heard a line: "It's time to bring integrity and honesty back to Illinois."

Whoa. That was ever a thing in Illinois? It seemed to be the rule that the retirement package for their governors included a stretch in the penitentiary.

probably referring to a time when Abraham Lincoln was a lawyer in Springfield. That might have been the only time.
