If you want to have inexpensive solar cells, you will be buying them from a Chinese company.

Yes, they severely screwed up the farm.
IT's pretty obcenet that some pannels can be had for around 2.50$/watt and others
for over 7$/watt. I've been looking for
the largest panel that $400 can buy or about 80W and it's all over the map. What really torques me is Evergreen Solar
is local and you can't buy from them and the dealers are high.
Solar is important power but it's price is so high even with incentives the payback is well over 20 years.
