"Some", in This Instance, Equates to "95% or Better"

Rep. Maxine Waters referred to some of the GOP Senators as "neanderthals".

I wonder why she is being so courteous and deferential to them. I think they are all pigs who don't give a fuck about the country.

40+ million uninsured Americans and the GOP's advice to them is: "Die soon, unless we can figure out a way to make it worth the while of the health insurance companies to keep you alive."

Ninety-five percent? Which 5 percent are decent public servants?
I can't think of any.

Hence the "or better".

I'm holding out hope that Collins and Snowe will defect.

As I've pointed out on my own blog, the "unregulated free market health insurance" nonsense that these GOP morons spew would automatically fail to cover expensive illnesses such as leukemia or breast cancer because it just isn't profitable to cover those illnesses in an unregulated free market. There are too few people who get those each year to make it profitable to cover them. An unregulated free market for health insurance would swiftly result in a race to the bottom where only healthy, young, disease-free people were able to buy health insurance, and only for routine illnesses, not for potential budget-busters such as leukemia (which can cost $1M to treat, including extensive chemotherapy and multiple bone marrow transplants).

But of course "free market" makes a nice sound bite to use to attack the President, so who cares that it's nonsense? It's not as if there's any risk of it ever happening, after all. Even when the GOP controlled all three branches of government, they never tried eliminating all the government restrictions on employer-provided health insurance, because the number of dead bodies that would have resulted would have meant the end of the Republican Party as a viable entity, sending it to the same dustbin of history as the Federalist and Whig parties. So they continue spewing this talking point, which they don't believe at all, in hopes of fooling the majority of Americans. Which, given the number of Americans who don't know that Medicare is a government health insurance program, might be easier to do than they think :-(.

Free market my bottom. Since us medicine is 100% for profit at every level it is free market and all the free market the customers can bear.

All they are trying to do is protect their comfy retirement and make sure their (congress/senate/buraucrats) get to retain their way better than average citizens medial plan.

That goes for the colleges and hospitals that burn the med student
for a dozen years all for profit.

Those Ni men dou shi sha gua that believe the repubs quano are in for a rudeness yet unseen.
