I'm thankful for a few things today.
First off, that I can absorb the checkbook hit of not working today. It may not be overly pretty this month, but it's doable.
Second, that the temperature was low up in the clouds. at least the snow was the light fluffy stuff that forms when it is really cold, not the heavy, wet shit that really jacks up the heart attack rates.
Third, that I still have a pair of Army surplus woodland BDU pants. They pull on nicely over a pair of sweat pants. The way the wind is howling this afternoon, my legs would have been freezing if I had just worn jeans to dig out the car.
So there was this teenager wandering around the parking lot because the schools are closed. He was wearing tan-colored work boots, pajama pants (dark green plaid) and an unzipped hoodie jacket over a t-shirt. His hands were crammed into the hoodie's pockets; I'll bet that he wasn't wearing gloves, let alone mittens. It is 18degF out there and the wind chill is around 0degF. The lad had to be not quite right in the head.

Funny timing, I'm sitting here wandering more or less aimlessly in electron land, and read the thing about that kid. The odd thing is that I'm listening to Joan O doing Crazy Baby. Great song, hope the kid is OK.

"...at least the snow was the light fluffy stuff that forms when it is really cold..."
stellar dendrites, heard that on the news today [g] And had to Google it, had it half-assed right though.

I suspect the kid just thought that he looked cool to be denying the weather.
