Blogroll Amnesty Day

The idea is that bloggers are supposed to link to five blogs that have fewer readers than their own blogs. Sounds like a fine idea.

But how the frak is anyone supposed to tell, unless the blogger has a public traffic count widget? Beats the hell out of me. I do try to pay attention to where people came from and reciprocate if they've linked to me. That's not foolproof, of course, given who is whacking away at the keys of this laptop.

So if you've meandered by here and you'd like this blog to link to yours, drop me a line in the comments section of this post.

I think that's an excellent way to handle it. I'm lazy and tend to just link to all those folks on my blogroll who aren't the major league blogs.

I agree with Lisa. Part of the way I do my Blogroll and links in my posts is by looking at those who are kind enough to participate at my place, or link to my thoughts deserve the same consideration even if I may not agree 100% with their ideas or posts. I also toss out the occasional post that is just a straight pile of links from places that I have read recently, in a Blog stroll, that may have influenced my thinking on a subject that can be totally unrelated to the post I wrote.

Like Lisa, I like to link to stuff on my Blogroll. I tend to try and pick a blog with authority and and mix in some Blogs that, like mine, are not A-listers. Reason being? Just because a top dog says doesn't mean we all agree 100%, but there are some topics that are so universally agreed upon that re-enforcing that view is as easy as linking. And some times the little guy makes an even better observation, in agreement or disagreement, that needs to be noticed.

I was pleased and proud to notice you'd started following my blog, and I'm pleased and proud to see what you've done with the coffee sign. As far as I'm concerned, you've done right by me. Why "amnesty?" That implies forgiveness, sufferance... I'm sure that isn't meant to imply that little blogs are merely to be forgiven and suffered through?

Lockwood, there is a history to this day that the name is based on and that you may not be aware of.

Regardless, pointing people to Blogs that they may otherwise never have heard of is always a good thing.

Connecticut Man1- I was being a little facetious, but I do appreciate the link; it does much to clarify the name.

Ah, who cares why it's B.A.D.? At my place it's Not Bad Day, because there aren't as many rules to follow. BTW, Comrade EB, you're on the list. Congratulations, I guess. ;)
