Disappointment

Jon Stewart goes after both Still-President Bush:

And Palin. You'll love the name they come up for her:

I don't know who came up with this line, but George Bush uses the word "disappointment" the way a dental hygenist uses the word "discomfort."

Great videos as always. I will say that Bush's twisted logic regarding Katrina actually does apply to an extent, but not in the way he states it.

I have an ATC coworker who was in Mississippi a few days after the storm when Air Force One flew, helping out other fellow ATC who were hit by the storm. They had to impose the 30nm TFR around the airport, effectively shutting down all Search and Rescue operations being conducted by the Coast Guard, police, and others. Everyone was pissed as hell that he was there.

So, in a sense, what Bush is saying is true. If he had landed in Baton Rouge or New Orleans, it would have paralyzed the SAR operations in the area until he left. It doesn't excuse his pathetic performance during the aftermath, his aloofness towards the needs of the people of the Gulf Coast. No, the Federal government can't just "fix" everything on command, but the level of ineptitude was staggering.

Also, those videos make you wonder just what kind of information his staff has been feeding him over the years. I've never seen someone look so out of touch. I wouldn't have been surprised if, in response to the financial crisis, he had said "Let them eat cake!"

And Abraham Lincoln? Really? Really?
