Magnum, P.I.

Back in the days before widespread cable TV, most folks had maybe five or six stations: ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS and an independent station or a few, mostly on the UHF band.

One of the more popular shows in the early 1980s was "Magnum, P.I."

The third season began with a two-hour episode called "Did You See the Sun Rise?" The ending of that show was astonishing for the time. The next day at work, everyone who had seen it couldn't not talk about it.

So, for those of you who are 40 and over and were old enough to remember it airing in 1982, here's a walk down memory lane.

(And let us all hope that the project to do a Magnum, P.I. movie sinks like a stone.)

There was a CSI:Miami Monday that ended much like that. Caine caught the pedophile that some murders revolved around; asked the only witness present to wait outside; then said "You're resisting arrest." Fade to black.

I guess he learned a trick or two from his old partner, Andy Sipowitz.

Thank GOD for the Sleuth channel, because "Magnum PI" rocked.

ComBastards doesn't carry the Sleuth Channel. I'd never even heard of it, until now.
