As Sure As the Sun Rises Over Lake Michigan

You'll find that the governor of Illinois is going to go to prison for something.

It seems to happen a lot. Democrat, Republican, it doesn't seem to matter: In Illinois, a governor will serve two terms in the governor's mansion followed by a single term in prison.

Is this possibly the remnants left from all the corruption during prohibition I wonder.

We will get a Fitzmas this year?

I just hope this doesn't fling mud on anyone with the initials JJJ.

Word on the street is that this is payback from Rahm Emmanuel for Blago trying to shake Obama down for dough in exchange for appointing Obama's preferred Senatorial successor. Dunno how accurate that is, but it's interesting that Fitzy specifically cited the Senatorial appointment as one reason why he made the arrest now rather than later.

Blago just out-Barryed Marion Barry. He's out-Clintoned Bill Clinton, and he out-Daleyed every skeevy Daley in that family's history. This couldn't have been more entertaining if he'd held auditions for the Senate with Simon Cowell as a judge. I feel sorry for Chi-town, and I hope Blago is done for good, but history shows that people are depressingly forgiving.

I find it interesting that some of the stuff he has done is simply a bit larger in scale than stuff Sarah Palin did. Apparently Illinois takes the time to crack down....whereas in Alaska, what? "Just Business as usual." She fired folks, she hired friends and certainly wanted to cash in on every opportunity. Crooks...in either party.
