So Much for The Party of Freedom and Personal Responsibility

When they're not approving of marrying children who should be in the seventh grade, Missouri Republicans are now messing around with non-reproductive health care for adults, as long as it's for people they despise.

A first-of-its-kind emergency rule introduced this week by Missouri’s Republican Attorney General Andrew Bailey will impose numerous restrictions on both adults and children before they can receive puberty-blocking drugs, hormones or surgeries “for the purpose of transitioning gender.”
...
Before gender-affirming medical treatments can be provided by physicians, the regulation requires people to have experienced an “intense pattern” of documented gender dysphoria for three years and to have received at least 15 hourly sessions with a therapist over at least 18 months. Patients also would first have to be screened for autism and “social media addiction,” and any psychiatric symptoms from mental health issues would have to be treated and resolved.

A bunch of mouthbreathing, low-wattage members of the Christian Taliban who have achieved elective office are now going to make health care decisions for adults.

What's next? Maybe they'll require intensive therapy before anyone has any body-altering procedure done, such as tattoos. Or cosmetic surgery. Why not check to make sure that somebody who is getting a butt lift or a facial tattoo isn't addicted to social media?

Or, for that matter, why not require fifteen hourly sessions over eighteen months with a psychologist before anyone in Missouri can buy an assault rifle?

What happened in Missouri? Did something new get in the water, or what? They seem to be going nuts lately. More nuts than usual even.

Well, they done got crazy.

When the state enters the doctors office, bad shit happens.
They have no say in personal decisions, period.

When the fark does religion (any/all) have any say in government?

But you missed the important one even before guns, that 15 hours and other shit
should be before presenting for elective office. We might weed out a few snowflakes and certifiable idiots.

Me I say take names... for later consideration.

The same morons in the state legislature are also seeking to defund libraries, as they are centers of book learning. The kids can learn things on their own that their pastors and parents might not approve of.

Well, your side wants to allow (in fact, encourages) permanent life changing surgery at that same (or even younger) age, so really, what's the difference?
Unless, of course, you have Double Standards of judgement...but we already knew that.

Yeah, yeah, I know, "Whataboutism"...but it is valid here.

Bullshit. Prove your point, or shut the fuck up.

b,

Clueless and even more so proof deficient.
So at this point put up, or shut up. Lies and fantasy
do not cut it.

As a generality most people around trans gender try to deal
with it realistically or talk them out it of it. Grooming
is made up BS and one reason as the abuse heaped on them
by people like yourself is not fun time happy happy to
sign up for.

I have first hand knowledge of how the process works and
the hoops that must be jumped, plus the costs. How, nephew.

B, you’ve already proven that you view yourself as racially superior to minorities, the latest evidence is your observations on your stroll along a road. And now you are providing evidence that you also feel you are morally superior to those that have different opinions than you. You make claims of whataboutism and double standards, thinking that it “proves” your counterpoint. But it doesn’t. Without supporting evidence of the stance you take, it just makes you out to be a sycophant of the right, echoing all the standard trope that can be heard on Breitbart and Fox News. You’re not contributing anything of substance to the discussion on any topic. If you want to provide counterpoints to have a debate, provide some pertinent information.

I don’t think you’re as up on as many topics and you think you are. Sad, really.

Actually Autism is not a factor unless significant enough to not function
in any role.

Actually while the requirements called out were expanded to the excessive
try to block levels, the WPATH and earlier Benjamin Standards for care
were not much different. The process is proof of Dyphoria lasting years,
therapy to resolve issues in current life, proof of understanding of the
changes to be undertaken, and living successfully in role with the likes
of the mouth breathing idiots before any respectable doc will issue a go
ahead hormones and blockers and for any surgery. Its very rare to
undergo any of that before puberty, especially surgery.

Statistics say about 1.5 Million in the US are so afflicted to some degree
and that includes Male to female and female to male. Of that less than
50% will try living full time in role. Of those, maybe less than 20%
(less than estimated 8000/year) will actually get surgery. The terrible
news is the suicide rate for that group is in the 3 to 4 times that of
general population especially for the teens. Thanks to all the BS that is increasing. They also suffer physical assaults and unreported and reported
murders as targets. That too is on a steep increase. As efforts to make
them even more social outcasts education, work, and housing will be part
of the social problems suffered.

Begs the question, for such a small group why is the ridiculous right
wrapped around the axel??? Oh right, so you will not notice they are
beating down women and veterans who are so many more.

What is visible by all the white male chest beating is fear and risk
of loss of control. Also cross dressing in males is statistically about
1/10, a paraphilia, no projection or guilt there...

So here we go, erecting medical barriers to delay treatment, a proven cause of increase suicide and depression. There’s no one trying to “mutilate children”, in fact, the whole aim of puberty blockers is to delay irreversible changes whole the patient undergoes treatment and counseling to help them understand their feelings. So of these “children” decide NOT to pursue this path and discontinue puberty blockers and go on their merry way, helped by the pause to understand themselves. Others pursue gender reassignment AFTER age 17 (or, as it’s known in Florida, too old for Gaetz), again having been helped by the delay and counseling. The largest number actually continue with counseling and care for an extended period.
