A Sign of How Badly Trump Has Degraded Our Electoral System

{Lame Duck] President Donald Trump [Loser, '20] still won’t bring himself to concede the election he decisively lost to President-elect Joe Biden. But he’s now acknowledging he will leave the White House if Biden’s win is affirmed by the Electoral College, which is firmly on track to do just that in a few weeks.

That it's even a question as to whether or not Trump would acknowledge the vote in the Electoral College shows just how far he's dragged down this country.

How far, you might ask. This far:

Since November 2020’s election, tweets from Trump and his inner circle show how close the Trump campaign is in tone and style to Russian disinformation—@DonaldJTrumpJr, “Ever notice the “glitches” only go one way?”. Yet the current campaign by the president and his allies is different in one important way: total impact. The president has brought disinformation to an audience that the IRA could only dream of. In the week following Election Day, the hashtag #StopTheSteal was used over 1.5 million times on Twitter. Russian disinformation operations have shown some success, but Trump’s campaign has been in an entirely different league in terms of impact. The aftershock of Russian disinformation operations in 2016 strained some Americans’ trust in the electoral process Here, the president—armed with baseless conspiracies about voter fraud—is challenging that trust like never before. No need for Russian trolls; this damage is completely self-inflicted.

Let that sink in for a moment. Trump is doing Putin's work in attacking the electoral system in this country.

Sadly, millions of Trump's supporters have fallen into line. Whether they have simply drunk too deeply of the Trumpist Kool-Aid or they really have no loyalty to their country is a question to ponder. And those two postions aren't mutually exclusive.

That means if you are still following Trump's line on this, you may wave Old Glory around as much as you want and believe you are being patriotic, but you are not. You are either delusional or a traitor. Or both.

Meanwhile, Trump the Loser keeps on losing in court, where facts still matter:

[Loser] President Donald Trump’s legal team suffered yet another defeat in court Friday as a federal appeals court in Philadelphia roundly rejected the campaign’s latest effort to challenge the state’s election results.

Trump’s lawyers vowed to appeal to the Supreme Court despite the judges’ assessment that the “campaign’s claims have no merit.”

“Free, fair elections are the lifeblood of our democracy. Charges of unfairness are serious. But calling an election unfair does not make it so. Charges require specific allegations and then proof. We have neither here,” 3rd Circuit Judge Stephanos Bibas, a Trump appointee, wrote for the three-judge panel, all appointed by Republican presidents.

Because Trump can't stand the idea of losing, he'll cheerfully wreck the electoral system with his baseless charges of fraud. But that's to be expected. For if one thing is clear, Trump doesn't give a shit about this country, or anything else, other than himself.

On another thread, I asked Trump people to defend his action of pardoning Flynn the Traitor. Nothing but crickets in response. Perhaps those that were once drinking the Koolaid have come to their senses, although still not willing to admit that they were duped by him. That’s understandable, no one likes to freely admit they were mistaken, taken in by a con artist.

Anyone of those ‘defenders of the Constitution’ care to explain why Trump is within his position of President to deny the outcome of the electoral college?

Asking for a friend.

I take the word of Doug Mastriano, who I served with in Germany in 88-90, over your completely distorted east coast views. Flynn, traitor? No, Obama, who's administration repeatedly utilized the federal agencies against his political enemies, is the traitor. Biden, deeply connected to Chinese, Russian and Ukrainian (Da tovarisch!) bribery is a traitor.

When big D democrats continually attack the vote, then the vote has no value. If there is no fraud for Biden, then let the system prove it. We went four years on the BS of "Russian interference", and now all the sudden, poof, the elections are all magically foolproof? Why the huge push by all the "major" media to deplatform, discredit and attack? Liberals? Not anymore, you're all a bunch of brownshirts with red tee shirts underneath.

Look at yourselves - JFK would be lynched by your side today.

Gromit, and you guys would kick Eisenhower out of your party.

Flynn pled guilty. Twice. His own words. Flynn was an unregistered foreign agent of Turkey. Those are facts beyond reasonable dispute.

That you stand up for a felon and a foreign agent tells me something.

Hey Gromit. I'm looking at your demand, " If there is no fraud for Biden, then let the system prove it. " Yeah, like you can always prove a negative. If you, Gromit, did not have sexual congress with the devil last week, prove it. If you did not commit treason by passing along U.S. military secret to the Russians, let's see you prove it. If you are not a witch, prove it.

Yours with extreme crankiness,

Drink some more fool-aid, gromit, you forgot about the baby-eating.

Prove to me you're NOT a Russian asset, a Russian stooge. Prove it.

Well, they did do some recounts in Wisconsin and guess what? Biden got more votes than the original count.
This is what happens when you intensely propagandize millions of people: lots of them stop believing in objective reality.
These fucks are so far gone that they are fighting for the right to die of a virus.
You can't really expect too much from them, but god damn it, they are all fucking adults and as such are responsible for their actions.
I have had quite enough of humoring their deranged fantasies. People are dying.
Today an older guy walked into a shop we were shopping in without a mask on, and the guy behind the counter got his attention and told him he couldn't come in without a mask.
He started barking at the guy behind the counter and called him a dipshit and told him he would take his money elsewhere.
The shopkeeper just muttered that nobody else around here would let him in without a mask either.
He got in a truck with MAGA and KAG stickers on it and did a burn out leaving the parking lot.
Can they grow the fuck up? And if so, when?

Grommit’s response, in a nutshell, exemplifies the twisted logic that Trumpanzees have regarding the election. While the is evidence of Russian interference in the 2016 election (especially using social media), there is no evidence of fraudulent voting. The Mueller report found that the Russian government "interfered in the 2016 presidential election in sweeping and systematic fashion" and "violated U.S. criminal law". The fact that Barr glossed over the report seems to have exonerated the Russians and Trump somehow in the conservative mindset.

Now in 2020, they claim untold cases of fraudulent votes for Biden, yet when asked in court to provide a reason for their case being filed, the attorneys for Trump state that these are NOT fraud cases. Their OWN attorneys can’t/won’t commit to a fraud case. The lawyers are on the Trumpanzees side, yet they refuse to believe them because it doesn’t fit with their “reality.”

And finally he’ll “take the word” of someone who perpetuates the allegation of voter fraud with no proof, yet wants Biden to “prove” that there wasn’t. The right makes an assumption and then wants others to disprove it, thereby giving the assumption the credibility of being a fact. They just don’t understand how insane that is.
