Well, We May Have Had a Fine Run of It

President Donald Trump again declined to commit to a peaceful transfer of power if he loses the Nov. 3 presidential election.

“We’re going to have to see what happens,” Trump said Wednesday at a news conference, responding to a question about whether he’d commit to a peaceful transfer of power.
For over 220 years, one of the hallmarks of this country has been a peaceful transfer of power between presidents. Now, we have a president who is calling into question that tradition.

Well, if the alternative is taking the outgoing president and hanging him on meathooks by his heels from the awning of a gas station...

You may have noticed a dearth of Republicans denouncing Trump on this. That's because Republicans are not loyal to the nation. Those in office have forgotten their oath to the Constitution. They owe allegiance to their party, to Trump.

They are all traitors to the Constitution.

And if you are going to vote for that man who has delusions of dictatorship, well, draw your own conclusions.

Why is B's comment still posted here? Biden never said any such thing. Moderate these S.O.B.s. please, before people start believing this nonsense.

Yours very crankily,

Former Vice President Joe Biden skewered President Donald Trump for refusing to say outright he would accept the results of the election, then provided his own answer to the question.

'Sure, the full results. Count every vote,' Biden responded, asked by CNN host Anderson Cooper about the freighted topic during a live, outdoor town hall-style meeting.

'Look, i mean, can anybody – any of you are history majors out there think of any president early on who said I'm not sure I'm going to accept the results of the election? It depends?' Biden said, raising his voice for emphasis. 'What's happened to us? This is not who we are. This is not what America is. No president's ever said anything like that.'

Looks like your source was unreliable, B. Without the exact quote, when and where it was made, you can’t expect to attain an attogram of believability around here.

B but what about... again? Seriously?

They have not tried to claim a damn thing save for they
made it clear is Drumpf cheats and he plans too, they will fight it.

The orange rage has made it clear his goal is to remain in office
by any means and that is criminal if found to be true.

I’m increasingly feeling like this is indeed the end. Reports the White House has contingency plans underway to push the Republican Legislatures in six battleground states to, if necessary disregard the popular vote and appoint a Trump slate of electors, in accordance with their prerogative. To be clear, these are simply reports and not fully validated, but are in line with Donnie’s position and pronouncements. If they succeed, the next move is rigging the census to help R’s maintain control and then move to further restrict voting rights. Then criminal charges against as many of the BLM and such protestors to remove their right to vote, and so forth. The devolution of the United States of America into a version of 1970’s South Africa, Part Deux is well under way, and Republicans are blowing the steam whistle because it’s the only way to protect “their” America.

B, full citation or your comment goes bye-bye. You have four hours to back up your assertion.

Also, the Democrats are not in power, B. That makes a tab bit of difference.

Political science-fiction and another unsubstantiated and non-truth. B, your credibility and reliability in the statements you make is waning quickly. C’mon, man. Face the truth that your boy and party is destroying the country by profiteering and milking the country dry.

'Fraid we're gonna' have to throw a monkey wrench in it, practice random acts of sabotage and senseless acts of violence. Speak to them, read from the book, in the only language they think they know. I didn't have too much trouble turning one of those "librul hunting permits" that have been floating around the bowels of the Internet forever into a WASP - white anglo-saxon protestant - hunting permit, and I'm not the idiot the puts a two inch red dot in back window, right behind my head. You're gonna' push too far B, guys like me are gonna' start comin' down out of the hills and your candy-assed militias are not gonna' know what hit 'em.

Well, it would seem that Fergus' actual master, Mitch the fuck McConnell is not quite so sanguine about the whole "get rid of the ballots" and "We'll have to see" about the peaceful transfer of power stuff that Fergus has decided to take out and play with:
"There will be an orderly transition" is the quote I read from him.
He was not, as far as I know, specific about nature of that orderly transition, or what exactly it would be a transition to...

Boy, for someone who “didn’t want to cause a panic about the dangers of the corona virus”, Trump sure wants to stir up a shitstorm by making threats to contest the election if he loses. But then again, there’s that Republican hypocrisy shining through. Lies, deceit, and obstruction is what the right does best.

Politico: (so you can't tell me it is biased) https://www.politico.com/news/2020/08/25/hillary-clinton-joe-biden-election-advice-401641

Hillary Clinton: "Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances because I think this is going to drag out, and eventually I do believe he will win if we don't give an inch and if we are as focused and relentless as the other side is,"

Sorry I couldn't meet your deadline. I was busy all day. You gonna put my comment back? Or copy and paste it back?

Dark Avenger said...

Gee, Hillary Clinton says not to concede. That proves nothing about what Biden will do if the election doesn’t immediately go his way.

You had mentioned the DNC in your original comment. I’m sure your article has someone in a position in authority in the DNC saying they’ll advise Joe Biden not to concede, right?

You’re going nutty about this, ignoring what Biden has said on the record in a doomed attempt to make him seem a mere tool of the evil, I meant evilllll Clintons.

Comrade Misfit said...

B, you keep ignoring what a “peaceful transition of power” means. It’s not a matter of conceding or court fights. It’s about going to the guns, “aux les barricades”.

Trump was asked if he’d go without violence. He wiuld mot saybthat he would.

Hillary Clinton, who conceded, says "don't concede." No doubt John Kerry says "don't concede", Al Gore says don't concede. At that/those time(s) I was SHOUTING AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS DON'T CONCEDE! G'da's would'be muttered under his breath something about closing barn doors after grateful beggars have taken the horse for a ride. Also would've said something about sitting down and shutting up, be seen and not heard. You didn't answer the cap's question, politico is only as "liberal" as its advertisers, and pretty-boy Lindsey with the new drumpf uck doo only thinks he's in a position to determine a "peaceful transition".

Should probably book your flight to ufuckifuckistan now, if you're not already there.

Trump was asked if he would leave peacefully "win, lose, or draw".

That is a spectacularly poorly phrased question.
Win? Why leave peacefully if he wins?
Draw? A repeat of the Florida recounts is likely.
Lose? Of course he will leave. The Democratic Party and their adjuncts in every medium are the only ones causing chaos and undermining faith in this nation, just as Russia wants.
