It is not hyperbole to say that a hundred thousand people and more have died because Trump chose to lie about the dangers posed by the coronavirus. Instead of doing his job as president, he chose to turn the measures to combat the virus into another fucking culture war. People are dead because they listened to and believed his bullshit.
A man who lets a hundred thousand and more people died because he thought to gain politically is not an honorable man. he is, in point of fact, a criminal on a scale that Radovan Karadžić could have only dreamed of.
Meanwhile, Mike Pence, who is shaping up to be the second-dumbest person in the Trump Administration, is hanging out with various morons who buy into the QAnon bullshit.
And on another note, Billy the Butt-Monkey has taken even more steps to convert the Department of Justice into Trump's personal law firm:

Jean Carroll, who has accused him of raping her in a Manhattan department store in the 1990s.Maybe it's a coincidence that Billy Boy is making this move while the Trump campaign has been burning through cash, in part because they've hired a bunch of grifters and paying huge salaries to the mates of the Trump boys. Some of what the Trump campaign has been blowing cash on smells like hush money, as well as big payouts to Trump businesses.
In a highly unusual legal move, lawyers for the Justice Department said in court papers that Mr. Trump was acting in his official capacity as president when he denied ever knowing Ms. Carroll and thus could be defended by government lawyers — in effect underwritten by taxpayer money.
I seem to recall that sometime after Palin quit being governor because she couldn't handle the heat of the job, she said that she could be president because she would use the Justice Department as her personal lawyers. People mocked her, but now Trump is doing just that, thanks to Butt-Monkey Barr.

Trump chose his political fortunes over the lives of the American people. In January, he was advised about the Coronavirus and even is on tape saying it’s 5 times more deadly than the flu and he didn’t take any action to prepare the country for the pandemic. No preparations of PPE, only being forced into action AFTER the news that the virus was here and spreading. His job as president is to protect the people of the United States. He swore to protect and defend the constitution. The constitution that begins, “We The People...”. In this he has failed. Thousands of Americans have died because of Trump’s homicidal negligence.

The DOJ stepping in and defending Fergus from a defamation lawsuit? That's not fascistic at all! Why would perverting the institutions of government for the protection of Fergus' misbehavior be fascistic? OK, I know the answer to that question.
The money thing is weird, though. Another "only Fergus could do this" kind of situation. He started raising 2020 campaign money in January of 2017. His campaign has blown through a billion dollars. Billion with a b. Now he's pulling TV advertising in swing states weeks before the election. Is it all some kind of twisted show? Every other damn thing he does seems to be, so maybe?
Fergus is not well. Anyone who hires a an actor to pretend to be Obama so he can insult and fire him has some mental issues in need of treatment, and maybe whether to get said treatment is a personal choice, leaving it untreated is inconsistent with maintaining an ability to perform the duties of the most difficult job on the fucking planet.

Doug, if the DoJ gets its way, the suit is against the U.S. Government, instead of Donnie, and that’s only allowed if the Government agrees to allow it. This is, quite simply, a move to kill the case.
This sort of moves the covid non-response over into the mass murder column.
How do you suppose his supporters will respond to him admitting this on tape, even as friends and loved ones sicken and die?
