So Trump and his acolytes are going around the country, telling everyone that if Biden wins, Antifa is going to take over policing and that gangsters from MS-13 are going to move next door to soccer moms to rape their daughters and pets and that the streets will run red with the blood of white people...
But....
Telling people that the coronavirus was an existential threat to national security was going to scare people?
Trump goes around, pointing at cities where protests are going on, calling them hellholes and threatening to send in the Army, but he wasn't willing to say "hey, look at this threat" when he was told in January about the threat posed by the virus?
Trump is willing to stoke up fears of a racial-war and bang the drump fo the white supremacists as hard as he can, but he wasn't willing to tell people of a real threat? Crimus, that's like telling a cancer patient to be careful in how they trim their fingernails so that they don't get a hangnail.
And you have to love that Trump's reply to all that is that it was Woodward's job to tell the American people earlier that Trump has been fucking lying all along about the coronavirus. Like it's Woodward's fault that all of those morons in Sturgis believed that the coronavirus was just another flu.
Trump lied and because of Trump's lies, hundreds of thousands of Americans will have died needlessly. Almost every other First World nation has done far better at this because they faced reality; they weren't helmed by a lying demagogue.
If Trump had lied about a war and gotten a few hundred thousand people killed, he arguably might be subject to being tried as a war criminal. But because Trump's lies will have gotten a few hundred thousand people killed by disease, that means that he's just a lying cocksucker of a politician.

Well, he slapped sanctions on prosecutors from the ICC, so he probably believes he has the whole war criminal thing covered.
Here's what Claire McCaskll had to say about him giving interviews to Woodward (from Show Me Progress):
Claire McCaskill: ‘…I would, you know, think about this for a minute. Let’s dwell on this just for a second. He’s [Donald Trump] obviously never read a [Bob] Woodward book. He doesn’t understand what Woodward books are. [Nicolle Wallace: laughter] And so this is, that’s, that’s strike one. Strike two is he sits for eighteen interviews. Okay, who in their right mind, who’s running for office in a year, within the year, sits for eighteen interviews with a journalist? This is not a smart thing to do [Voice: “With anyone.”] This is beyond folly. This is ultimate stupidity. He is so stupid. And he knows, he does, he did the last interview like a month ago. He did the last interview a month ago. So when is the book coming out? The book is coming out within two months of his election. With tapes. Eighteen hours of tapes. Hours and hours of tapes. So, this president is the stupidest president that has ever held the office. Forget about for a minute, for all of his followers, forget about the integrity issue, forget about the character issue. This guy’s too dumb to lead this country ’cause this was really, really stupid…’
I would submit that it's beyond just stupid. He and Kushner, in their narcissistic hubris, believed that they could spin Woodward to get a favorable story about their covid response from someone with Woodward's credibility just before the election.
So yeah, I agree with Claire, they're really, really stupid.

Remain calm, Comrade. Don't panic. Go back to YouTube and look at all the cute kittens. Nothing to see here. All is well. That's what the Republican traitors would have you do.
And every Republican (except Romney) asked about Trump's malfeasance has take the stance of "I haven't read Woodward's book," or "I haven't heard the recording yet." Bullshit. It's been the lead in every hour of every newscast. I'm sure the aides in the White House are scrambling for cover about now.
His lies are catching up to him now. Eventually even those unwilling to abandon Trump will have to realize that they were oh so wrong about their messiah. It just takes some longer than others to face reality.

What Dale said: keep calm Cap'n. Indeed, relish this, as it is about to become a tsunami. If you find it, check out the Tik Tok of God, her assistant and "meatier" dinosaurs.
Not worried, IT was a lie, we knew that then and it is confirmed now.
We are not to believe our lying eyes. Books are heresy.
Truth is not real.
With all his lies I'd long since adopted the stance that when he
speaks its opposite day.
Others might say if his lips are moving, its a lie.
Eck!

It seems to me we are all missing the important point here. This Virus is Real, it IS Deadly and it is highly contagious.
Sure tRump lied, when has he not? And, he needs to be literally crucified for it this time. However, we are in a viral wasteland at present and the sentence should be postponed.
All we have heard, except for say the CDC and Dr. Faucci, is a bunch of lies.
We need to make that No 1 in the news. This virus is out of control.
In my little corner of the woods, a face mask is a political statement and most of our citizens here think it a waste of time.
If Donny had told us at the first, we might have convinced more of those yahoos that it was necessary. It's time for him or somebody in his name, to own up to this.
His yahoos really need some re-education about this virus and I mean today not after tRump leaves office.
For the sake of the remaining nation, they need to hear it and out loud.
