You'd have to be eight flavors of mentally deranged to think that training your cat to do this would be a good idea:
It'll be a lot of fun at 0-Dark-30 when that cat starts ringing that bell like the gripman on a San Francisco cable car.

Ye Gods and little fishes! I can just see our little Kili dragging the bell into our bedroom at 2 a.m. because she's feeling peckish and we're not responding!
:-O
Who is training who, here? :)
Training? Cats??? Those two words DO NOT belong in the same sentence... :-)
Our cat-lords have perfected the "stick a paw in the ear to wake us up" trick plenty well enough. They don't need technology.
Right up there with the foot... ya know the one that digs in the litter box... into your mouth when sleeping to get attention. Or pushing stuff off the dresser or headboard because the alarm went off and sleeping continues. After all there is food and water to be served.
And we do it too! ;)
Eck!

Just pondering the idea that perhaps the cat sitter is the one doing the training. It is a truely dastardly deed if taken in that context. Giggle.
